It's ok, I just couldn't figure out what you meant, and the curiosity was getting to me, that's all. As a matter of fact, I really was smiling a little bit ... I just don't have one of those huge 10,000 megawatt smiles as some do.
Don't worry, I still plan on taking the plunge (literally! ha!). I will keep you posted.

HA, Sorry, last night pretty beat, so didn't answer..How are you doing M? Guess I think you have a mysterious type look. Ya know, this isn't 1860. People actually do smile in photos now.
Did you use digital camera or Computer camera for your picture?
What's new on your journey? I still am praying that you'll take the plunge. We need you..
Take Care

Are ya gonna keep me in suspense, or what?

"Mysterious"?

What's up oh mysterious one?
-
Haha, not even close actually ... I'm way too feisty for academia ... they'd toss me out on my ear in a heartbeat, for going against the prevailing liberal 'grain'!
As for the beard issue, well, I have a decided preference for beards, so I actually liked it. Although, I have to say that his character was one of my least favorite on that series ... he was so annoyingly arrogant and full of himself.
-
Tell me this M, are you involved in a job that has to do with academics? Come on, give me a hint!
Thanks for the primer on TNG, it was a cool series. Was good until Number 2 grew that beard, in my opinion..
Take Care...

JS, I wasn't fishing for compliments, truly ... the way you worded it just made me laugh, that's all. But, I thank you for your kind words.
As for TNG, yes, it was the one with the Android and the guy from Roots (LeVar Burton). TNG had so many really thoughtful and moving plot-lines, and the acting was (IMO) much better than the original series.
-
M, I think you have many skills as well as being very intelligent! I ve never even heard of some of your favorite books and movies for goodness sake...
Hey, Was Next Generation the one with the Robot guy and the guy from Roots? Yeah, I used to watch the first couple seasons of that one..
-
Good heavens, JS, you make me sound so useless! Yes, I do like SF, although I don't tend to like the super techno-heavy stuff ... the anthropological stuff is what I love most! As for Star Trek, the only Trek series I ever liked was The Next Generation ... not sure why, but none of the others before or after it appealed to me.
