The Church Suffering (Purgatory)
The purpose of this group is to offer daily thoughts and prayers for our beloved dead but also to provide information on what Purgatory is according to the Roman Rite.
IN MEMORY OF OUR DEPARTED LOVED ONES
"When we love, we remember, and this memory, the effect of love, is not a barren thought. It resolves itself into Deeds for the loved one. When sorrow is united with faith our sad memories resolve themselves into sentiments sweet and precious to the soul. To recall the features, the accents, the manners and the sentiments of a loved one is still to see him/her and to associate him/her with the joys and sorrows, which we formerly shared."--The Universal Living Rosary Association
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory , (and especially for the souls of.........) for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory especially all deceased members of catholic answers forums, and also for all deceased family, friends relatives, benefactors, aquaintances, ancestors and enemies of every catholic answers forums member, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen
PSALM 129: DE PROFUNDIS (English)
Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord: * Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thy ears be attentive * to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities: * Lord, who shall stand it?
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness: * and by reason of thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath relied on His word, * my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, * let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with him plentiful redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel * from all his iniquities.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.
PSALMUS 129: DE PROFUNDIS (Latin)
De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine:
Domine, exaudi vocem meam:
Fiant aures tuae intendentes,
in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine:
Domine, quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est:
et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius:
speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem:
speret Israel in Domino.
Quia apud Dominum misericordia:
et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et ipse redimet Israel,
ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.
Gloria Patri, et Filio,
et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
