chris62: Iron Maiden does have an undeserved "satanic" reputation. They may not be a full Christian band doing christian music, but the content is there.

jazz91: I do not know much about Avenged Sevenfold, but I have heard they were raised Catholic. As far as their music, they do use a lot of Biblical references (for what that is worth). Some of their songs are very graphically violent and they swear a lot. Because of that you have to be very careful if you listen to them. I could not say it is wrong, but I would say there are a lot of similar (even better) bands that are not as questionable that spread THE positive message without losing the hard edge of that type of music.

Yep, I'd say the 11 are the apostles, minus Judas, as well.

One of my favourite bands is Iron Maiden. They are not Satanic as some claim. They cover the issues of good against evil and are clearly on the side of good. Even the song "The Number of the Beast" is about the evil of devil worship. Here are some snippets of some of their lyrics. Song titles are in bold
