    Enjoy!

BTW, the song's lyrics use Paul's Old Man/New Man imagery from the Bible to describe our inner struggle with original sin. I believe the man in the video is supposed to be Paul, agonising and writing about the struggle between old and new man.
I haven't checked our group forum in a while.

Great song and video. Thanks for the insight about Paul. I was wondering who that guy was. The "old man" is a common motif in metal so I don't think I would have made that connection.

I know we've got some Theocracy fans here!

FYI, Ulterium Records has officially released Wages of Sin to YouTube. There are quite a few fans who have 2 or 3 of the albums, but are unaware of this song, since it only appears on some Mirror of Souls special editions. Enjoy!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTVagzCDJMw

In addition to the digital download of the song available on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Spotify, eMusic or any of those places, there are also available:

Wages of Sin 7" vinyl single:
    http://ulteriumstore.bigcartel.com/p...7-vinyl-single

    Wages of Sin t-shirt:

You can follow the band at:
    http://www.facebook.com/theocracyband
    http://twitter.com/theocracyband

Also note: discussions are underway for US touring. I am part of deciding the routing, so if anyone is dying to have them come to your state *and* if you have connections to venues/promoters there, let me know!

Helloween also did an excellent metal rendition of Laudate Dominum (in latin) on their Better Than Raw disc.

Echoterra is a symphonic metal band out of St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN. They release their second album Land Of The Midnight Sun on Oct 17. These guys (and gal) are good friends of mine and I helped on the video shoot. Check it out!

    Echoterra is:

Melissa Ferlaak on vocals (ex-VISIONS OF ATLANTIS)
Jonah W on keys and orchestration (PYRAMAZE, STRUCTURE OF INHUMANITY)
    Yan Leviathan on guitars (AVIAN)
Adam Sagan on drums (ex-INTO ETERNITY)

I'd be interested to hear what you think
Thanks for posting, Wampa. I'll have to check them out when I have some time to listen.

The new Theocracy album is awesome! I'm a bit disappointed with "Nailed" from a lyrical standpoint, but besides that minor gripe, I have been blown away. They just keep getting better and better!

Vote for your favorite type of rock. On the "Other" option, post what it is if you selected it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention you can select more than one option.

I don't know why people don't' seem to know that Heavy Metal was created by four Catholic Musicians, Black Sabbath. That's why their early albums were very much about be careful of evil. The bass player and main lyricist, Terry "Geezer" Butler had even considered becoming a Catholic Priest. He once said in an interview that if you had seen is bedroom when he was a teenager, you would have seen walls covered in crucifies. They were even know for wearing big Crosses made by Ozzy Osbourne's father to protect them from Satan. They are very much against Satan and hate Black/Death Metal.

Hey all, I usually participate in the metal threads in Popular Media when I see them. Glad to see our own place just for those who enjoy our music and leave the "they're all evil" crowd to discuss their thing elsewhere

My quick metal background: I grew up listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, and the like.

Now my favorites are in the power/prog/symphonic genres. Favs include Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Savatage, Rhapsody, Dream Theater, Threshold, and Crimson Glory.

Once I discovered these genres had awesome Christian bands like Theocracy and Rob Rock, I was all set! Looking forward to hanging out in the forum

Have been listening to Dream Theater's newest, "A Dramatic Turn of Events". Brilliant! Great to see a group of Christians who can relate to also enjoying Helloween, Kamelot, and Savatage, too!

I like contemporary 'Christian' rock only... and not all of those. You see, I have heard that so many of the rock/metal groups are involved in satanism and I'm not about to endorse them or listen to them. I also heard from a priest who used to be on the 'dark side,' that their priests will put curses on many albums, etc.. like a 'real' priest will 'bless' things with holy water.. they will curse it with 'unholy' water.. He said many did not believe him, but he was there and if he saw it, I believe him.. We must always keep our actions, thoughts, etc.. holy. Know that even when we are in secret, God is right there with us...just as much as in a physical body. What would we do or say or what would we watch on t.v. or listen to on the radio, if Jesus decided to be our guest. Granted... we would change alot, wouldn't we??? But, it is that realization that He is just as much there spiritually. I'm extremely careful about any movies brought into our home or what is watched on T.V. Jesus is my guest and I NEVER want Him to leave... I'm NOT judging you.. I respect your rights to listen to what you want, but just wanted to share what has changed my ways.. I used to listen to all of those groups as well...

Hello everyone! I enjoy all type of music including 'classic metal' . I dislike the negative messages (lyrics) used in death metal and alike.

We got our forum, and this guy has been bugging me about this group, I'll post what he said.

AsTheDaysOfNoah: I saw your group, Christians and Rock/Metal...

...but what does the Bible say Christians ought to participate in?

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:19

    For example:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tqcl3CSf1A

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TtezZL5rSM

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPuLTb4q6CA

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXytny-J_6s

However, there is such a thing as ungodly music...

Just because 'music' may have 'christian themed' words associated does not make it of Christ. The Devil takes that which is error and mixes ["mixes", just like modern music, mix and remix] it with a little truth and the resulting error is more dangerous than the first...

Me: I have seen that kind of stuff before, but I do not listen to any of the bands you listed. Thank you for taking the tiem to write this though, it shows you know how to find the right recources. God bless.

AsTheDaysOfNoah: I used to listen to the same material, and it started out simplistic enough, and it is not until you love Christ Jesus with your whole heart will you realize that such music is not of him.

Bands? The same material is in each of them, their beats, their sources, their lyrics, their dress, their attitudes, their lifestyles, their walk is not with Christ Jesus. They serve another master... they are in the way of the world, lost...

Megadeth? They worship the god of this world... look closer at the lyrics themselves... and you will see the voice of that fallen angel...

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. Proverbs 8:36
