    Okay Don,

Does that mean we are scrapping this group altogether?

    Hello everyone,

A really nice lady approached me in Church last Friday and asked me to pray for the following special intention. She’s planning on taking a girl in to live with her at her own private dwelling. This particular girl it seems has been involved with drugs, and the lady is hoping to steer her in the right direction but it’s obviously going to be very difficult and she needs the entire prayer backup she can get.

The lady in question is a Daily Communicant herself, she’s also devoted to Our Lady and the Rosary which she often leads in Church. And the Rosary of course will be my daily prayer on their behalf. Wouldn’t it be absolutely lovely if in the process of helping this young girl kick the drug habit, she also introduced her to the Rosary, Mass etc? This could indeed happen if sufficient prayers were offered on their behalf hence this request.

    Matthew 21:22

    Good afternoon, all,

    Hi, rose,
Umm ... I wrote [meaning] that John sealed (the effect of the Sacrament of Baptism) Jesus Christ's human nature in the Holy Spirit. Basically, escaping any flaw in my theology, I think that Baptism strengthened Our Lord for His ordeal in the dessert.

    Ok, all,
We;re discussing starting an open Bible Study II group, so the rest of you may join us. I would like to add to the discussion, that we start over with Chapter 1, so that the new members can start fresh, too.

God loves all of you and yours,
    Don

    Mark..............ch. 2

here Mark introduces the scribes and pharisees and their doubts, citing 'how can a man forgive sins" or" why is Christ eating with sinners"......
Mark seems to be preparing us for the trouble for Christ that lies ahead.
to the pharisees...(and i love this qoute)
...Christ answers..."it is not the healthy that need a physician".........Christ comparing our bodies to our souls....."but the sick"..
Christ also predicts His death...when He tells the pharisees who have been questioning the disciples about fasting....."that when Jesus is gone the disciples will fast."
v.18-22...."behold the new-ness of His teachings."....................
there really is a lot in these two chapters..written very simply...yet fully!!

    ..........Mark .....ch. 1

well, mark just dives right in ..presenting the many miracles, Christ's selection of disciples. and the teaching's in the synagogue...which left many agog!! and amazed!! the crowds came
as Christ called...to repent and be saved. at night Jesus went off by himself to pray.
i think Jesus almost had to preform all these miracles ...so people would believe that something mighty is happening.

    Good evening, all,

I've read the DR-C introduction to the Gospel of Mark and his first chapter.
The introduction in the Douay-Rheims Challoner (DR-C) Holy Bible has Mark starting his gospel ten years after Jesus Christ's ascension into Heaven. And, the intro has him writing St. Peter's teachings in his gospel.

The first chapter straightened out an old misunderxstanding I had ... that Jesus came from His temptations in the desert to be baptized, when, no, it's that John the Baptist baptized Jesus before he went into the desert, to seal Him in the Holy Spirit.
Upon His return from the desert, Mark has Him doing a few miracles and starting to gather the apostles.

I'll read and report on Mark 2, later.

God loves all of you, lurkers, too,
    Don
