    Psalm 42:3-8

    New Living Translation (NLT)

3 Day and night I have only tears for food,
while my enemies continually taunt me, saying,
“Where is this God of yours?”
    4 My heart is breaking
as I remember how it used to be:
I walked among the crowds of worshipers,
leading a great procession to the house of God,
singing for joy and giving thanks
amid the sound of a great celebration!
    5 Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
    I will praise him again—
my Savior and 6 my God! Now I am deeply discouraged,
    but I will remember you—
even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan,
from the land of Mount Mizar.
7 I hear the tumult of the raging seas
as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.
8 But each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me,
and through each night I sing his songs,
praying to God who gives me life.

My move is going well, and I aquired a stray kitty in the process! Photos later, but for now, his name is "Bootsie"and he has the cutest little white booties! He's black with white whiskers... 8 months old and curious beyond his years! HEEE heee...

None the less, moving is a hassle... as I'm sure you well know!

"After we have placed ourselves entirely in God's hands with complete confidence in Him, we must not fear any adversity; for if some misfortune should befall us, God will know how to turn it to our good through ways which we do not know now but will know some day."

Our Thanksgiving meal was delightful; I pray yours was too.

    A Bible quote of importance:

"11 Yes, I know what plans I have in mind for you, Yahweh declares, plans for peace, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

"12 When you call to me and come and pray to me, I shall listen to you.

"13 When you search for me, you will find me; when you search wholeheartedly for me..."

    (from Jeremaiah 29)

    And my thoughts concerning it:

Every Thanksgiving I write a letter to God thanking Him for all the things He's ever given me, is giving me now and shall give me in the future and then eventually what all He shall give to me forevermove. That last I finally realized this year. The first year I wrote such a letter listing them all out as best I could.

As the years have passed I realiaed I could never count them all out or deliniate them... and so I simply need to say THANK YOU, LORD and go on to more important aspects of the letter. Things I wish for, daydream of and so on, I try to thank Him for these, but all to often I fail at that, instead only asking/begging for them.

Jesus says in the Bible to thank the Father for things we ask for as if we already have them. I have found that so hard to do! Whereas we frail humans are so stuck in the present and either haunted or rejoicing over our pasts, the Lord sees ALL time, knows all and has power over ALL. After all, He created it all! And unlike we meer artists on this earth, He is not ruled by his creation but can and does gently coax it into His eternal perfect plan. I say this because I have yet, even though I am considered a fine artist, to coax even ONE of my works of art into the exact vision I had envisioned it to be.

Kicking and screaming sometimes, others hanging our heads in shame and aquiessing, we eventually bow our heads and realize He always knows best; His plan IS ALWAYS best ( Jeremiah 29:11).

I pray you all had a memorable and lovely Thanksgiving! I did.

    sk, who didn't overeat, thankfully.

---> I propose that each one of us choose a short Bible verse and share it before today's Thanksgiving meal.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ONE AND ALL!

sk, cooking happily in my kitchen and having a coffee at 7:20am and listening to special music I chose for the occasion (SONGS OF THE GRATEFUL HEART by Sister Kathleen Deignan who I met personally at a Catholic Retreat...)

I share a photo today of St. Nicholas of Myra (commonly known as Santa Claus) for your enjoyment. It is from a book entitled "SAINTS Who They Are and How They Help You" by Elizabeth Hallam. A very good book, by the way.
