Praise God, Thank Jesus and the Spirit

Group created by sheilakathy

At this special time of year we want to honor and praise our God for all He does.

1 Chronicles - Chapter 29
(New Jerusalem Catholic Bible)

13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,

14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - since everything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,

15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were all our ancestors, our days on earth fleeting as a shadow and without hope.

16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, has come from you and all belongs to you.

17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity of motive I have willingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, willingly offering their gifts to you.

And from the New Testament:

Romans - Chapter 5
1 So then, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

2 it is through him, by faith, that we have been admitted into God's favour in which we are living, and look forward exultantly to God's glory.

3 Not only that; let us exult, too, in our hardships, understanding that hardship develops perseverance,

4 and perseverance develops a tested character, something that gives us hope,

5 and a hope which will not let us down, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.

THANK YOU, LORD!

Even though I was not up to going to mass, my friend Connie called to see why I was not there and was concerned for me. She even recognised that when a person such as myself lives alone, they need someone tio check up on them when they are "missing" like that. I really appreciated that! She is a new friend, but it shows that she REALLY cares, which matters so much to me. I thanked her for that. sk

I went to the local Food Bank today and asked for the special foods that I can eat (as I have many an allergy) and they gave me so much food, also a beautiful Christmas sweater and some some decorations too! I am so happy, I thanked them over and over and asked God to bless them. It was rainting and the nice man even gave me a ride home as I have no car. sk, deeply grateful

Please pray for whoever it is that keeps looking at me at church. Quite often I turn around and find him gazing right into my eyes! I had thought it was some fellow who just lost his wife, (only because someone at church tried to identify him for me when I asked who he was recently...) but now it seems he may be another person entirely since he was in a crowd when I tried to point him out to my friend who tried to identify him for me. I was curious and had asked...

It seems the person who she identified for me today, instead, may be a MARRIED MAN! (However, we still may not have pin-pointed who the fellow IS! Still working on it... in the meantime, PLEASE pray that whoever he is, he has honorable intentions and is not married!

sk, more curious than ever now!

I share with you today a few photos of my makeshift Christmas Tree and a special ornament that was given to me in honor of my late husband, God rest his soul (It says "Gone But Not Forgotten" on it). The tree is made of some branches I gathered that were blown down in a recent storm. I prayed for a tree, knowing that I would not be able to afford one. "The Lord shall provide." (Scripture verse from the story in the Old Testament when God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son and then provides a ram instead at the last moment. One of my favorite verses in fact). Life is good; thank You, Lord! Oh! And those are two li'l Christmas dolls I made.

"After we have placed ourselves entirely in God's hands with complete confidence in Him, we must not fear any adversity; for if some misfortune should befall us, God will know how to turn it to our good through ways which we do not know now but will know some day."

This was meant mostly to be a THANKSGIVING group for the holiday, but I shall carry on with it now and then as it is most appropriate for ANY day, really! sk

In my moments of stillness God has told me that I shall be called to Mexico (some 4 yrs from now, it was 5 when He first told me).

I seemed to hear from Him today that I shall be caring for a young child or young children and babies at some time after I get there. I was never able to carry my children to term and all seven of them are in Heaven.

Our priest asked us recently if we could have ONE wish what would it be. Mine (without so much as a blink of my eyes) was that I would have a child on this earth.

I had a vivid dream last night about lovingly taking a child from a young mother who was beating the child mercilessly! MERCY!!!

Only after church today did I realize that the dream was somehow real, as I recalled my one wish. I ache for that child today, and yet I realize that she has not even been born yet. In the dream she is maybe 2).

Please pray for us (and any others that God may have for me/us).

    sk
