WHAT'S COOKIN'?
We can sit around our tables and fellowship, talk about our pot luck dishes we create for church and folks, etc. Best of all, we can talk about "What's cookin'?" today! Sharing recipes is encouraged, but not required.
I'm one of those folks who uses a pinch of this and a dash of that, so the recipes I share will not always be exact. For me, no two soups or stews have ever come out exactly the same, but the basic recipes are in my mind, heart and soul. Mom and dad taught them to me when I was quite young. I do love to cook. I think the journey through the kitchen is as fun as the sharing of the meal.
1 Samuel Chapter 9
"23 Samuel then said to the cook, 'Serve the portion which I gave you and told you to put on one side.'
"24 The cook then picked up the leg and the tail and put it in front of Saul, saying, 'This is for you. This is what was left. Make a good meal . . .' That day, Saul ate with Samuel."
-----
My Crock Pot
The last one finally croaked
so I had to buy a new one
it makes my time with You, Lord,
more abundant and fun.
While dinner is bubbling away
there is so much to pray
then I restock it anew
at the end of each day.
By lunch on the morrow
it is all ready to eat
not having to slave in the kitchen
is oh so very sweet!
GOD BLESS MY CROCK POT!
