matt 2:11 confuses me as to the time line between the manger and the house, the arrival of the magi. I was told the census took place in 08 and the previous census was 14 years earlier. Help please

    The bible says that the shepards came to see the baby Jesus and the Magis came to see the todler. The King had ordered all baby boys two years old and youger to be killed, so some time had pass between the shepards and the magi.

    My priest told me that it is thought Jesus was born about 4 to 6 years earlier than thought. If this is the case nothing seems to make since to me...
