This is a post from the past! 8 days scheduled in Wyoming once again this coming Sept. I try to get out there once per year.

I have a Suburban. I do not know if it counts but it works for me.

Well I do all that except for belaying. I'm not into rock climbing at all. I love kayaking though but I'm in Missouri and already do all that with an adventure group. You might try meetup.com and see if they have any outdoor related groups in your area. Meetup.com is basically a site full of clubs with everything from dancing to volunteering to rock climbing, cycling and hiking. I bet there's something in your area.

This is actually the reason I am on this site. I am looking for people who would want to experience God with me at the top of a mountain, in a cool morning breeze, or under the stars at night, and as much as I am looking for friends, I'm also hoping that one might be an unattached Catholic female who wouldn't mind freakishly tall guys. I've been on various Catholic Dating sites, and there are hardly any who enjoy the outdoors, and those who do, do so by blazing through the hills with some 4-wheeler, 4x4, dirtbike thing, which is fun, but also ruins what's there.

Welcome. Glad to hear your going to start outdoor stuff
I can't help you on building a canoe. I kayak a lot but I bought it. Should be a neat experience for you! You will defiantly appreciate it more if you build it.
As far as camping if any questions pop in your head I might be able to help.

Today I came upon a raccoon at the side of the road. I stopped to see if she was OK. She was. She was eating something on the ground. (It turned out to be dry cat food. Someone must have been feeding her--but it was a bad place to put food--so close to the busy road.) I sat in my car and watched her for awhile. She was just a few feet from my car. Then a bright red male cardinal flew in and landed on the ground a few feet from the raccoon. It was a beautiful sight!!!!! I wish I had had my camera with me!!!! You never know when you will be treated to these beautiful sights!!!

lol--I think you sound like my husband...he really likes it here, I don't, I'm afraid. Don't hate it, but don't feel like this is home to me. I do like where we live, the nature trails, and lakes...takes my mind off the transient feeling of it all.

I did it again i was in Elmer Washington Love those small towns. And then I went to Montasano and took a look, didn't find it there so i moved on. i did like the view on my way to the airport of the Olympics and Cascades, and Mount Reineer all in one shot it was the first day that didn't rain Yes i hit it on the rain season. But the last day was great i wrote a poem on that State but you wouldn't want to hear it , because i went there for a funeral and it was sad. Love of Christ Nancy
