Mature Vocations

Tha k you for remembering my brother in your prayes. He can not move on his right side or speak, but is aware. As he can not speak right now; it will be the only time in his life he has been quiet! But serioulsy, I don't know how well he is going to deal with that.

I have noty done the Litiny of Humility. I will see about it. I gues I could use it in my life. PAX

Anyone ever read the litany of humility? I've added it to my morning prayers. After choking on a few of the things I ask of God in it a few times it has become easier to really mean what I am asking for. He has begun to answer it for me, wonderful, a little uncomfortable but wonderful! I will pray for your brother.

Please pray for my brother Pete who has had a massive stroke, if you would. Thanks

I will share this little poem I wrote the other morning after taking a medicine that didn't agree with me and made me very, very sick

I've been thinking...and that probably isn't good! Who knows your soul and spirit better than God? God calls us all in one way or another with baptism. That dosen't mean that we can not chose to supress the calling for many reasons, good or bad, and finally answer it in God's own time. As for spiritual directors, who is to say that they can not advise wrongly on occasion or not see what is in the heart of a person?. They are only human, but we have a tendancy to take what they say as gospel...in most case they may be correct. Unless someone knows the other person very well and is, or not intimidated by position or one's lack of station or perception of self worrth, then I think that many vocations can be lost...have been lost.
How many of the great saints had, or the benifit of good spiritual directors? Of course, there are many very good SD out there, but if one can only be seen by appointment for only a short time or not freg. then how does a SD weigh and judge a vocation or lack of one? God made us so that we could progress in the spirit. Just thinking about it.

Prettiepet- the answer to being taken seriously is to just "do it" or to follow your heart or calling. SD are only human and not always right. Perhaps getting a new SD is also needed. PAX

I am only removing those that have become inactive or havae not been to this grooup for a long while-like six months or more. Don't worry, Prettiepet, your not one of them. Please do not remove me! I find great consolation in knowing that there are other women like myself who really want to be dedicated to OUr Lord and are searching for a place to do it!
