A separate thread for recipes is a great idea! Bet we'll all be checking it from time to time.

Got to bed on time last night, and am on track with the food so far today, so life is good

Good morning everyone. Sheilakatty andd Chris38, I think Elaine has it right about talking about different foods when she said that it can be a great idea for any of us to be able to bring up problem areas, including particular foods, but that she would hate for our conversation to become focused on food. When I started the thread, I guess that's more of what I had in mind, too. Re: recipes - would it help to start a related thread for sharing healthy recipes that are easy to fix, so those who are interested could check in with that as they wished? Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi all...neat that I found this just now! At my last TOPS meeting I did a program on my problem with several foods that I can't stop eating, since others had identified with my experience shared the week before. I had discovered that eating Hawkins Cheezies after just a couple handfuls, my heart jumped around like a bird in a cage. Several days later, same experience with the cheezies. I researched the prob of eating what I know I should'nt (weiners, raw or cooked, shortbread cookies as two more examples) the best info I found was to decide to abstain from those trigger foods that I know I cannot have, similar to the Alcoholic or addict that must abstain from the substance that harms them. One has to eat to live...hey! perhaps that is the clue...eat to live/not live to eat!! My husband and I started taking the SAFSLIM that Montel raved about on Dr. Oz. Will know at Thursday TOPS if it helps!

Hi again. Want to weigh in on the mentioning foods, recipes, etc. Although I think it's a wonderful idea for any of us to be able to bring up problem areas, including particular foods, I would hate for our chats to become focused on food. In my case, that's part of the problem. I'm trying to break the habit of thinking about food all the time. That's why I'm trying the approach that I am this time - adding a new behavior to work on each week. If this becomes a place to swap recipes, I can just see myself sitting down at the computer to check in and end up salivating and eating the refrigerator! Of course, that's just my opinion.

Chris, congratulations on your loss! Keep up the good work - not easy to do when you are so busy with little ones.

Welcome to the group, SheilaKathy. My son and his family are moving to your beautiful state this summer - all the way from California. We're happy to have you with us ~

Hi everyone! It is so great that there are now so many of us to encourage, support and cheer each other on! I am so inspired!

Hi SheilaKathy. Welcome to the group! I don't think that there's a rule about not mentioning any specific foods. I think we all have have those specific foods which we find most challenging to refrain from eating. I sort of figured when I initiated the group that we'd be able to share our challenges and successes. Maybe there's someone else here having a devil of a time with the same kind of food as you.

Congratulations, James! You give me hope!

Elaine46 and I are now checking in with each other daily re: our commitments. It's been a great help. Tonight I would have stopped off to buy icecream on my way home after an evening meeting, but I didn't, knowing that I had someone else helping me be accountable. Also, I need to keep this short, as I have also committed to going to bed by a specific time, and getting my prayer time in as well before. So, I hope all have a good night. My prayers are with you all. I sure appreciate yours, too.

Hi all, back from my WW meeting and down 1.2lbs, not what I really hoped for since it was week one...but I will take it. When I arrived the parking lot was a zoo and the meeting was standing room only so I just weighed in and left. Didn't think I could handle the little ones with so many people.
Oh Elaine "herding cats" I have never heard that but it is so true.... I am a cat lover(have 3 inside cats) so it really struck my funny bone. It is going to be my new saying.
I am also interested in can we share different foods that we like, find, or tempt us? Recipies etc? Have a good week eveyone.

    Great job James.

Hi, I'm SheilaKathy (sk) and I just joined this group.

QUESTION: Is it OK to mention specific food here or...?

I went to the Dr's today and they said I weigh 154. I have this feeling I gained weight over the holidays, but she kind of side stepped letting me know what I weighed 6 months ago (my last visit). She said they keep weights in a different computer... so here I am! Help me please, because I FEEL heavier than I did last October.

And, well... er... I did eat some things over the holiday I usually NEVER eat, but I stopped eating those things soon as Jan 2nd rolled around (though I still have one in my house and have not touched it).

QUESTION: Is it OK to mention specific food here or...?

sk, troubled and WAY out in the North Carolina mountains (right near Georgia and Tenn)

Yeah, you got that right on the money AveMaria. Catch 22. But I weighed in today. I lost 14 lbs.
    Glad I didn't lose control. What a motivator !
