Language Exchange

Group created by Beati Pacifici

A group where people can discuss language, practice language with others, and a new learn language , etc. Great for any of us who want to learn a Biblical/Ecclesiastical language (i.e. Latin or Koine Greek), a modern language (English, German, Spanish, Japanese, etc.) or sharpen our current languages.

Yes it is quite a shame. Well I am not sure if I can commit to that, I defintely will check in on the Latin days. But I am looking forward to what the others will say. It's a good idea.

It's a shame ain't it? Anyone up for doing one language at a time for a period of time? ex. German 2 days, Latin 2 days, Greek 2 days, take a day off. Doesn't have to be exactly like that but you get the gist.

    Greetings Pippin,

At this time CAF is not accepting new group forums. Hopefully this problem will be resolved one of these days.

    God Bless.

Beati Pacifici, we have enough members to start forums. We could start a separate thread for each language mentioned.

I'd like to learn a little German and Latin.
I've got a children's book for Latin and occasionally hearing the TLM Latin Mass in the Extraordinary Form is a good picker-upper. I grew up with the Old Latin Mass and loved the responses.
I've got an old German Berlitz textbook. That's a help but I'd like to be challenged to think here.
Any challengers here to make me look up German and/or Latin phrases?

    English and Spanish speaker here.

I'd like to learn Korean as a third language (I recently bought a textbook), but I haven't devoted the time to it yet. Most Catholics out there are surprised to learn that there's such a concentration of Christians in East Asia there.

James, I don't know Korean. . .although I love the food! lol.

John of Patmos - Try posting some sentences in the group. I'm sure we would all love to learn some of it.

    Hey Fin,

I studied it briefly a few years ago, but I want to get back into it.

    Beati Pacific,

You said, ' Sorry, but I know just a little Nihongo'.

I also studied Japanese years ago. I took the JLPT level 4 exam.
