    Perfect

We usually add, though, in "ruega por nosotros...................ahora"
"ruega por nosotros, LOS PECADORES, ahora y en la hora..."

Dios te salve Maria, llena eres de gracia, El Senor es contigo. Bendita eres entre todas las mujeres, y bendito es el fruto de tu vientre Jesus. Santa Maria, Madre de Dios, ruega por nosotros ahora, y en la hora de nuestro muerte. Amen. Did I say it right, or did I mess up? I'm trying to brush up on my spanish skills.

    Bienvenida, anp1215

    Estevao-
I have experience in attending Mass in Spanish, in which I am not completely fluent. Something interesting I've noticed: once I attended Mass in which the homily was given by a Hispanic Deacon who was a native Spanish speaker. I was not able to understand much of what he said, because to me, it sounded like he was mumbling a bit and his pronunciation was not very clear. As a non-native speaker, that makes a big difference when you are trying to understand what is said. Recently, I attended two Spanish Masses with my goddaughter's family. The homilies were given by a young priest who spoke Spanish as a second language. Therefore, his accent was very similar to mine, and he spoke slower and more clearly. He was SO easy for me to understand! I think I understood about 70% of what he said. Anyway, that is my experience.

Lo siento mucho! He estado tan ocupada con mis estudios. Son muy exigentes. Voy a graduar in Noviembre. Regreso de Nueva York por el 31 de mayo. Que divertida mi vacacion! Creo que me gustaria vivir alli, pero mi familia esta aqui, y me los aman mucho. Nueva York es un mundo diferente! Como esta el salud de tu esposo?

    Et cum spiritum tuum, Attempto

The only wrong thing I saw, was:
"I am very happy for YOURS husband`s and garndson`s names."
    Should be: YOUR

I also have another grandson: James and a son: James
so with husband: James and grandson Jacob, I guess that makes 4 James/jacob(Iacobus) in the family. We also celebrate it on July 25th.
My great-grandfather's name was also the Spanish for James/jacob: "SANTIAGO".

Well, I won't give up on Latin: Someday, somehow, I'll learn some of it. Such a beautiful language. Our Church 's heritage and since it is a "dead" language the beauty of it, is that it cannot be adulterated into plebeian street language but will retain its' beauty.

    Dominus tecum AveMariaMag7,

Yes, Latin is not easy language but it is easier to learn as Ancient Greek. I also understand and speak Ancient Greek but it is too hard to be learned through the forum.

I am very happy for yours husband`s and garndson`s names. James (Iacobus, Ιακωβος) is very beautiful name.
Yes, my Saint`s Day is on July 25th - St James Apostol the Greater, also is my parish dedicated to St. James.
Say hello to yours Jameses and God bless,
    IACOBUS

Post Scriptum: Excuse me, if I wrote something wrong.

Oh, dear, I don't think I'll ever learn Latin properly.
Maybe just the basic roots. It sounds so awfully difficult.
I have sons that know Latin and I haven't been able to pick it up from them either.

I read in your profile: Iacobus = James

    My husband's name is James
Our grandson's name is Jacob (my daughter tells me he was named after "grandpa")
I guess that was correct July 25th will be the shared Saint's Day here, too.

    Hi!
Yes and no. In Latin we know five declinations (for nouns) and four conjugation (for verbs).
So, for persons are conjugations (use them by the structure of the verb). Most languages have conjugations but not a declinations. Declinations have Latin, Slovenian language ...
For me is easier to learn Latins declinations because my mother language have them.

    Hi Attempto

I guess "bends" is the verbal endings that correspond with the person. Correct?

Most languages have them, I suppose (in moderation) French, Spanish and the German (which I found most difficult along with the adverbs).

    Dear AveMariaMag7!
Your translation of my text is fine.

    We usually say:
Pax vobiscum (it is the same like) Pax cum vobis! (this is in the plural)
    Peace be whit you!
    Et cum spiritum tuum!

In Latin we know bends, do you know what I mean?

pacEM is in acc. so it isn´t correct.

Et cum spiritum ... whitout - e and no -o but: -um

    God bless,
    Iacobus
