    Remember the time
When the world was so large
    But we could go anywhere
    In our own backyard

    Remember those days
    When 13 was "old"
    And a dollar or two
    Was better than gold

    Remember back when
    The awesomest thing
Was to climb up a slide
    Or jump off a swing

    Remember when you
    Felt afraid of a storm
And you crawled next to Dad
    To feel safe and warm

    Remember again
When the days went by slow
    You never could wait
For that new tooth to show

    Remember when Christmas
    Was always so fun
    And that excited feeling
    Would rise like the sun

    Remember the times
    We called Jesus a friend
    So many things change
    But some never end.

Just really quick... needs another stanza

    Lord show us our weaknesses,
    Show us Your strength,
    Show us Your mercy,
    Help us have faith.

    Lord give us Your love,
    Give us your peace,
    Give us forgiveness,
    Let us be released

    From the bondage of sin,
    From all selfish deeds,
    From impure angry thoughts,
And from what we call "needs"

    In Memory Of
    Whispers of the past
    Flood the eyes and ears
    And visions like a blast
    Announce the time of year

    Forgotten dreams again
    Dredging up the years
Through night and day they lend
    The living borrowed tears

    Perhaps its sorrows way
    To cleanse the soul again
    Of doubts that may sway
The heart that needs to mend

    A Simple Prayer

I walk with you Lord in blind faith
Knowing your hands reach out to me
Fervently I pray on bended Knee
For patience to get me through the day
    Forgive my doubts and restlessness
Help to guide my forever soul
Keep me safe during times of stress
With every prayer I am made whole

    A Litany Of Thanks

For many blessings large and small
For love that lasted through the years
And for all the friendships I recalled
That carried me through many tears
For patience that was hard to find
And hope that was sometimes fleeting
For endurance that was not far behind
That I welcomed with an ardent greeting

    Memories:A Precious Gem (Haiku Chain)

    Refined,and polished
    Reflecting the light of day
    Memories are precious

    A rare collection
    Never lost or hidden
    Forever ours

    With many facets
To be shared with loved ones
    A living tribute

    Change (Haiku Chain)

    Uncertain days
    Challenging the strongest hearts
    We climb a mountain

    Stepping upwards
    Approaching the highest peak
    A magnificient view

    Vision is panoramic
    Eyeing the valley below
    Part of our journey

This is a poem I wrote called Beach Boldness:

The beach is miles of sand,
The sand between your toes and hand,
The ocean crashes on the shore,
    With foam turning and twisting,
Shells of all sorts. Colorful umbrellas,
And chairs lined close to the water,
Boats sailing out in the open,
    Beaches bond with the bodies,
    Bathing n the big blue.
Can you hear the waves crash?
The ocean in a shell? The seagulls
    flying sky high? Listen closely,
to how Bold the beach is.
How far a body will walk with a
big bag for shells, is farther
    Than you can Imagine.

    "erosion/expiation: a sailor's prayer"

    Your whispers carve canyons
in the stone of hardened hearts
    making channels
    for the rivers of renewal
the clear blue water of truth
    roiling
    forms white caps of transgression
and rushes towards the basin of redemption
You are a gulf of expiation
    a sea of transformation
    and we are paper boats
afloat atop the fathomless brine of Your love
You calm the storms we precipitate
and settle the waves we leave in our wake
    our hearts are broken compasses
    that struggle to point North
and our lives are tattered maps
    whose faded cartographies
    form silhouettes of Your face

    Lord, hear a sailor’s prayer,
    lost and far from shore,
and take hold of the anchor of his faith
    as he casts it overboard

    Sermon From the Cross

    Christ ascended upon the Cross

    To give his final sermon,

The seat from which He would now pass judgment

On a world which hated him,

    For he gave evidence thereof,

    That its ways are evil.

    But he passed no sentence,

for what sentence could be passed on those

who have already dwell in the Hell their own sin created?

From the Cross, and with Cross as irrefutable proof, he testified against

The Queen of this World, whose name is Vanity

The Ruler of this World, whose name is Satan,

The misery of this world, whose name is Legion,

And the malice of this world, whose name is Man.

“And even when I leave this Cross

And my spirit returns to the peace whence it came,” said Christ,

“Every suffering heart, and yea, even the rocks themselves,

will continue to proclaim this Truth,

    which frees whosoever understands it.

    For the soul is imprisoned,

Only when it falls in love with its chains,

And these chains, which I cast aside this day, are but dust, illusion and folly.

He who places not his hope in earthly things,

Is thereby also without fear of any earthly thing.

As for me, I fear not that which can kill the body,

For this world is nothing to me,

And all the nations less than nothing and emptiness.

This mortal death has power over only those

Who would cling to this fleeting life.

But whoever hates his life in this world,

That person will surely inherit eternal life.”

And the Spirit of Christ, speaking from the Cross, continued:

“I am come to open the eyes of the blind,

    To free those held captive,

And to liberate them which live in the present darkness, from this their dungeon.

“Therefore, that you too may be undeceived

And see things as they really are,

That you may see as dust that which is dust,

And as ashes that which is ashes,

And as deceitful shadows, that which are deceitful shadows,

I will grant unto each of you, my brothers and sisters, a Cross.

To some I will grant the crown of martyrdom, to others the riches of poverty, to others the good counsel of illness-

But to the many their Cross will be simply this-

the one thousand daily struggles, frustrations, desires, privations, pains,

betrayals, injustices, lusts, failures and heartaches,

to which all flesh is natural heir.

And when your soul has learnt in full the lesson of your Cross,

that all things indeed are vanity,

The Heavenly Father will surely deliver you from this World, the power of the Evil One,

as even today He delivers me,

Then you will be, like me, in emptiness, free.”

    Mystery

What are the secrets of darkness?
    Will anyone ever know?
    What happens behind
    A veil so black
Where no light dares to glow?

What is the color of silence?
Is it silver or turqoise or white?
    When you listen close
    And quiet the noise
Do the stars shine brighter at night?

What is the shape of a soul?
Could it be a circle or square?
    Does it have any form,
    This life inside,
Or is it simply a breath of air?

What are the secrets of darkness?
    I guess we'll never know
    The color of silence,
    The shape of a soul,
But it's mystery that makes us grow
