Hey everyone,
So I decided to make this group in honor of the late Holy Father, John Paul II. My question is, who dosen't love this man? Reading his life story and all that he did for the Church makes you appreciate what a fantastic example he left us to live our lives as people of God. Even those who aren't Catholic can appreciate what a great person he was. I'm absolutely sure that he's in heaven right now with the Lord Jesus, and I hope to meet him some day.
In the meantime, let's share some of our favorite things about John Paul II.

Dear bscastro:
Thank you for your observation; I am someone that finds it easier to write poetically than prose; I will be happy to start a conversation at any level or point that you desire. I will be very honest with you, I have never done any kind of e-mail type of correspondence, etc. I don't remember how I came to the cite, or all its inner workings as far as: regular member, observing, etc. I would like to say that I was raised Catholic by a wonderful mother that became a widow with eight and one to be born and she was the most debout and faithful beliver that I "envy" her for having found or felt such love for the Lord, Jesus, and all things Catholic. I hope that some day I will adquire a more "acceptable or standard" way of looking or understanding faith/beliefs and "the estabishment". I don't know if we are supposed to ID ourselves, etc., but up front I can say that I will be 62 years old soon, and I am a gentleman. Thank you, please frogive me for any errors or improper e-mail etiquette, etc.

Hello
You can send an email to the following email address to request a Holy Card of Blessed John Paul II which has a small relic embedded into it.
It could take a few weeks though before you get a reply.
postulazione.segreteria@vicariatusurbis. org
It is an official department in the vatican that was part of organising the Beatification process. I found it on the Holy See.com web site.
Good luck,
Pauline

I recommend "He liked Tuesdays best" - a story about everyday life of the Blessed John Paul II.
See at http://jp2books.com
I highly recommend it!

I will be doing the Divine Mercy Sunday devotion, which he brought to us!
and I will be watching the TV, crying my eyes out of joy for him. I love JP II so much. He is very special to me.

I was blessed to see Pope John Paul II in 1979 when he celebrated Mass at the Boston Common. I still have the informational flyer and my seating tickets framed and on my wall because they memorialize a day that has great spiritual meaning for me.
He was a truly a great leader and example for the entire church-- especially in persevering as our Shepherd in spite of his suffering and infirmity toward the later years of his life.
I had read in one of his biographies that as a young man in occupied Poland during WWII, he carried in his back pocket a copy of St Louis de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary, which he often read throughout the day. You could tell by the direction of his life that this was a man who was very special and close to Our Lady.
I still miss him.
God bless to all.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the Pope John Paul II Fan Club, my name is Kim.
I've taken this from the Sacred Heart Apostolate, Inc. Their website is: www.sacredheartapostolate.com
The Sacred Heart and Suffering
In this month of June, consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it is natural and a pleasure for me to exhort you to recall to your minds your hope and your prayer to the Heart "which has loved men so much" and which continues to love us with his twofold love, divine and human, especially those who are more troubled, tearful and suffering. From the Heart of Christ, "full of goodness and love", you can obtain strength and comfort in your sufferings, peace in your heart and merit in all your pains! - Pope John Paul II
Well, everyone have a blessed day!
Easter Blessings,
Kim

What your favorite writing done by Pope John Paul II?? So far mine is Pastores Dabo Vobis

Does it have to be a VHS or DVD? The Washington Post has video footage of the funeral--including the procession to St. Peter's you're looking for--on their website. Download RealPlayer if you don't have it and then you can download the video file right to your computer.

Hi Petite Teacup There's just something so lovely and simple about it. Like he's talking to a group of old friends.
