Hmm, if God wants you to have someone else besides the parish priest, He could send one. If there isn't a choice just make sure that the priest's views are in line with the Catholic Church, that he says the Mass well, and that he prays. Then just keep Carmelite readings with you like Way of Perfection etc. I find a daily dose of reading St. Teresa of Avila's writings makes good exposure to Carmelite sprituality. And we leave all else to the action of the Holy Spirit. hope that helps.

Catholic Cat - I'm sorry I'm nor sure what u should do . Maybe you should have your Parish Priest even though he doesn't know much about Carmelite spirituality

Hello, I'm an aspirant in Langley BC Canada. I have my interview in a couple weeks for admittance in the formal formation program. I'm so happy to find like minded people. I was wondering how a person finds a spiritual advisor? Our community doesn't seem to have one and my parish priest is not familiar with Carmelite spirtuality. Its a dilemma, I'm not sure how to approach.

I missed Mass yesterday, Monday , feeling a little out of touch hence looking forward to today.
Do you manage to get to Mass daily? If so , you're very blessed you can schedule it around work. This is what is stopping me from wanting to work full time
