Taking One for the Team - Support for Catholics Opposed to HHS Mandate or Other Recent Culture Wars

Group created by 3DOCTORS

Let's be there for one another in this climate of hostility. I won't make this a moderated group unless people join to argue against the purpose.

The purpose of this group's existence is for those who are faithful to Church teaching and are catching a lot of flak from family, friends, and others for it in the current time due to their position on these issues. It is NOT a place for debate. Just a place for those suffering due to being in a "politically incorrect" position to be there for one another.

We need to come up with a tangible plan to defeat these attacks. Simply talking about they unfairness, stating we need to "unite" and discussing which lackluster republican we're going to vote for isn't enough. We need organized action. Some one recently said to me, "The attack on our religious rights concerns [him], but what is more concerning is our poor use of the rights we do have."

Maybe that's what it will take - for many places to follow suit. I only pray that the parents and students will direct any protests about the lost healthcare coverage not at Catholic institutions but at the governmening bodies which made such a decision inevitable. In other words, hope they don't blame the Church for being caught in the squeeze play.

I am happy to see that Franciscan University of Steubenville has taken a stand on the healthcare issue. They have announced that they will not provide healthcare for their students next year as it violates their religious beliefs to conform to the current requirements - contraception and abortion coverage. It's a shame the students suffer from this, but I'm glad somebody stood up in defense of their beliefs.

Peter, I will look at that!

One person who really inspires me a lot these days is Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

The Archbishop of Scotland recently told all Christians to wear their crosses/crucifixes every day. God bless him.

Has anyone seen the latest news from the Anglican Church in England? A Vicar of 20 years in his parish has left the Anglicans to become a Catholic, taking 70 of his parishioners with him! This is because he is sick and tired of that man-made religion's shifting sands. Fact is the Protestant Church is in serious decline because we are living in dire times and they have no basis for their 'faith'. The Vicar said he felt like the 'Prodigal Son' and that he was coming home! God bless him and his parishioners - welcome to holy mother Church - The Catholic Church - the One True Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself!!! Only the Truth - found in the Catholic Church - is the effective weapon against Satan in these sinful times!!!

Some of the Protestants are furious because here in our part of Essex it is old England - very Protestant. They are magnanimous enough to allow the Catholic parishioners to join them in their Good Friday 'Walk of Witness'. Next year, this will be banned by a so-called English Borough Council. It is betrayal of the English people in their own country for the sake of the Muslim immigrants and the Atheist homosexual crowd, whose voices are so much louder these days - out of proportion to the population, especially in this part of England. We may be marching for another reason next year and some of us may end up in jail. One can feel that times are calling for action, not words. Time for the Church Militant!!!
