Charitable faith. I know it is hard being a Christian at school. I started going to church with my Nanna in my teens and got teased a lot for it. So I know that sometimes you want to fit in. Well done for letting your friends know you are a Catholic. Can I just say (meaning no offense) that not all Protestants think Catholics are going to hell. In fact I have been to several different churches and have never heard that. I thought that Catholics were just another denomination. (sorry) I now realise I was wrong after doing a lent study.

Please pray for me. I am seventeen, and my whole family is protestant (dad was raised Lutheran and mom was raised Baptist). I have found so much truth in joy in the teachings of the Catholic church; however, I am not allowed to attend any Catholic church until I move out which is over a year away (provided I go away to college). Please pray for my strength as I try to stay true to my Catholic beliefs and my amazing God in this difficult situation. Please also pray that maybe my parents might be understanding, or even convert themselves.

The Holy War 11, do I sence you might have a calling to the priesthood?

djmauck, congrats on your decision to become a Franciscan! There are recourses to show the fullmillment of the Old Testament is in Christianity. It is a matter of knowing which scripture to quote when. Type in "Jewish roots of our Catholic Faith" on Amazon.com and you will find several books that might be helpful.

cmlong, welcome to our group, you will get lots of support here! I came into the church on Christmas morning 2004 and the only Christmas gift I had that year was the Eucharist, my family was outraged and would hardly talk to me. It is hard, but the Lord will see you thru it.

CharitableFaith, It is great to see another young person with a dynamic faith! The key with your friends is to let them know your are "saved", the word they use to discribe the fact the made a decision to follow Christ. If you can talk there language and let them know you really do believe the Bible, they will back off some.

    Hello everybody!,

I'm a 15 year old Catholic who had the faith for 2 years so far, and I always get teased and picked on and told how my Catholic religion is false and that I'm going to he'll and all this other false things Protestants think about Catholics. Since I come from a strict Protestant background, at first my faith for Catholicism was not accepted from my family untill my mom found that I had joy in it.

Please pray my family will treat me better then them telling me I'm part of the whore of Babylon. God bless

Im new to this website and finding God I just had my confirmation and baptism this past Sat night, It was amazing! I was raised with no religion and religion was not talked about just made fun of if I had any questions. My parents did not come to my baptism which hurt but I was ok with Ive learned to forgive, BUT I have found out that they lied about why they didnt come and that has hurt ALOT! Ive tried to think positive and pray to forgive but Im not sure how to deal with this, any comments would be great!

Hi all! New group member here. Brief background, I was raised reform Jewish, became atheist, then came to Catholicism two years ago after first being a part of a nondenominational evangelical church. My mother is extremely anti-catholic. She is very involved in Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups, which saddens me and I pray for her a lot. My only brother stopped talking to me when I became Christian, apparently making the comment (so my mother said), "whenever a Jew converts to Christianity, Hitler wins." I have come to terms with my mother and she has agreed to stop starting arguments with me, so we just don't talk about it much. I'm considering becoming a Franciscan, though, and worried that will kind of be the last straw. Anyway, glad to see this group exists and I'll be praying for everybody. Keep strong!

Petersmate- hahahaha i do not act my age i admit. I have always had a serious life. Never got to be simple like most of the kids my age. I dont mean simple in a bad way. I mean like not worried about the problems of the world and things like that. The other boys my age want to talk about...........you know what they want to talk about... I like to talk about religion a lot.
