I'm new to the catholic faith and really don't have much knowledge of the bible. I am hoping that I can learn from this group to understand the bible and grow in my faith to live my life true to the catholic church and our father.

Funny you should mention this. I am doing a course in Christology and it brought up the lineage. It also asked since Christ has been with the Father since the begining what was He before man? Spirit one in being with the Father. We also look at if we pray to Christ we pray to the Father since they are one. Alot of people also miss that Mary was along the lines of David as well.
Finally some thoughts to ponder Neofight!

Parable, here is my take, with a couple of verses of scripture to ponder:

    Luke 3:38
    Luke 10:27

We honor him by loving our neighbor.

In Luke, we see the lineage of Christ traced to, "Adam, son of God," (Luke 3:38) marking the fact that through the power of the Holy Spirit and concenception and birth by Mary, he is truly both fully divine and fully human (another interesting note, is Luke's geneology of Christ to Adam (first man) is the reason for referring to Christ as Son of Man, because he truly is both, the Son of God, and a Son of Man); and thus, we are all truly BROTHERS of CHRIST, and CHILDREN OF GOD....and ergo, since Christ IS GOD, our loving him, and his brothers and sisters (our fellow man) we our honoring God. (As commanded by the Lord in Luke 10:27).

    Praise the Lord!

neofight awesome reflection Yes we must understand Jesus was and is and is to come. He was there from the begining one in being with the Father. He was co creator. But God also sent the spirit out to work as well.

    Proverb 3
My son, forget not my Law, and let your heart keep my Commandments. For they shall add to your lenght of days, and years of life, and peace. Let not mercy and truth leave you , put them about your neck, and write them in the tables of your heart. And you shall fine grace and good understanding before God and men. Have confidence in the Lord with all your heart and lean not upon your own prudence. In all your ways think on him and he will direct your steps. Be not wise in your own conceit: Fear God and depart from Evil. For it shall be health to your navel and moistering to your bones. Honour the Lord with your substance, and give him of the first of all your friuts, and your barns shall be filled with abunance, and your presses shall run over with wine.
