Rosary Making Ministry

Group created by vmstevens1

I have started making simple, twine rosaries. They are beautiful and fun to make. They are not easy to make and require patience. I have brought the twine to the social event after Mass, and people, young and old, male and female, want to sit with me and make them. I work on them while riding public transportation and people always ask what I am doing. I learned by watching Greg Willetts, of the Rosary Army on YouTube! I thought it would be interesting to see if others have started similar groups at their churches and how they are doing. Ideas? Photos of their rosaries?

Hello everyone I wanted to ask if anyone would be interested in sending rosaries to prisons?
The prisons just ask that the beads are plastic and the cross is plastic (2"long)
color request are solid black, brown or white
I have some addresses to prisons that are asking for them please contact me if you are interested
    God Bless

Thanks, everybody for the links for making the "ladder" rosary. I actually contacted the lady who made this rosary, and it's the St. Therese beads made into the Rosary, and I printed the instructions on The Little Ways site. She also showed me how to add the center, crucifix and first 4 beads. Thanks for your help. Deo Gracias!

AvaMariaMag-I'm back! You brought me back in here, so glad you contacted me, I am going to check those links, but unsure my hands would let me do such delicate work, eventually I would like to get the kit I saw at Wal-mart and make some rosaries with the metal parts, maybe make some up for Christmas.

Have a Blessed Dasy All! M

    Hi denitaA
I found it. Here's the link:

    http://thelittleways.com/How-to-make...fice-beads.pdf

OK I checked the link and it was the "Home Page"

Here's the link that actually gives the instructions:

    http://thelittleways.com/how-to-make-sacrifice-beads

These are called "sacrifice beads" that St. Therese of Lisieux used to keep track of doing daily good deeds. The slide up the "ladder" as you count the "sacrifices" (or prayers). The link shows how to make them.

There are also also knotted rosaries (not ladder) that was posted with a link by Phillip Rolfes. I don't know if these are the ones you meant. I'vae never done these. Here's the link that shows this other type:

    Hi denitaA
I'm going to look back in this same forum and I'll be back with the Info.
I had found a website that shows step by step on how to make a the bead and cord ladder rosary. I had posted the link for someone asking the same question.
I'll look for it and I'll be back.

I posted this question in the regular forum, but I'd like to ask here, too: Do you know where I can find instructions for making bead and cord ladder rosaries? I found one after Mass last week which had a crucifix and centerpiece, and was made with pony beads and twine, but I can't find instructions online. The closest is sacrifice beads, and one with no center and spacers. I'd really like to make some like the one I found. Any ideas?
