As we enter this midsummer, let us all remember Our Lady of Carmel (tomorrow) and how our precious Mother of God assists us in times of temptation, struggle and despair, as she will always lead us to the cross and remind us who loved us... first... and better...

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.

I had the most beautiful communion at Mass today.
My father has been diagnosed with cancer, and he (an agnostic) is very fearful of death and worried.

At Mass tonight, I implored our Lord to allow my prayer to unite with all my prayers for my father with our ancestors who are in the communion of the saints. I implored them to hear my prayer for my father, and unite with me. At that moment, I was filled with joy and in my heart I saw a myriad of pictures, of all my ancestors, in seconds, running, sunshine, snippets of voices, and children, faces, singing, receiving the eucharist before them, time uniting us all, the past the present, and most of all the Eucharist, uniting us all, a conduit of love and prayer for my Father. United in love for my father, but especially for Our Lord, I approached the Eucharist with such joy and peace and excitement as I was feeling something I had never quite felt before, the communion of saints in such a powerful way. II was transfixed in this eucharistic movement of time and space and love for minutes, but they were so powerful and changed me. I am so grateful for that feeling and I wanted to share it in a place where people who Love our Lord will understand. I was only able to share this with my father in a limited way, because he would not really understand. But he does understand I love him, and for today, that's okay.

Thank you all and good night.

Marlap- So glad you said that, occasionally, not often, there is something that happens at my house, I feel whatever it is nearby but outside the window, I know it's not my imagination because my dog will raise her fur and growl, and I ususally am "feeling very threatened" so I pray the Lord's prayer, but I may also remember to call on St. Michael next time as well, it on;y happens a couple times a year, but is very unsettling when it happens.

    Mary and Riley,
I think Saint Michael, especially for some of us here in this forum, is one of our bigest advocates. In my mind I see us standing behind him, holding on to his wings and begging for his help (in a good way) Whenever I am in the presence of something specifically ungodly, or someone is suggesting something that is not of our Lord in a strong way, I ask for his help, as well as the JESUS prayer, of course. Hope everyone is healthy happy and not too warm! Where I live, we finally got warm weather. No one is complaining... yet.

Riley G-Wow! I love the St. Michael's prayer, he is an awesome protector! I am a fairly new Catholic, and I love that we ask them for help and repeat prayers such as this, we need all the help we can get!

    Saint Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

    Amen.

marlap Wow!!!!! What a story and I am so proud of you for praying for those "brothers" and also for doing that graphic art for a good cause, thats incredble, what a productive week! Most don't accomplish that in a year!

And it is amazing and wonderful that our sweet Lord answers our sincere prayers, I always pray expecting a cure for those I pray for, because he's done it time & time again for me, so much love do I have for HIM.

Might go back to that store where they sell the divining stuff and ask the person if they know Christ....I'm curious, were you wearing a cross or anything that set you apart? (I will pray for your protection, but the Lord said he would protect his followers..perfect example of evangelizing....ah, go for it if you can.

Peace & Love & prayers for You & All Here. M

    Hi Mary Virginia...
Lots going on for many of us, I am sure! I've had a week off, which generally has turned into lots of work, from gardening to creating graphic art pieces for a Domestic Abuse group and another couple of pieces for a Pro-Life person... I've been praying for 8 years for a particular intention. For the men in my extended family to know and Love Christ, and to live the life that they are truly called to.
23 men in my extended family. Only three are practicing Catholics. Others don't attend any church, many use drugs or alcohol indiscriminately, use pornography, etc. etc. None however, have divorced . No divorces in my family, which is a rare thing, right?

Well, this week, on my days off... after eight years... this happened.
1.) One brother in law phoned to talk. He told me that for a month now, he's quit drinking throughout the week. Only drinks a bit on the weekend. Wants to be a better example to his sons.
    2. ANOTHER brother-in law phoned yesterday. Quit drinking AND drugs for two months now. When I told him HOW proud I was, and how I've been praying specifically for this at Mass, he started crying. It was an amazing conversation.
    3. Brother in law #3 phones to tell me he bought me a Sacred Heart Icon to put into my prayer place. Tells me his sons are considering priesthood.
    4. Husband reveals in emails he's been praying for a friend.

    Pretty amazing weekend!

On another note, I've also been surrounded, for some reason by some people who are practicing occultists. A friend I haven't talked to in a long time invited me to a psychic fair where she's selling jewellery. Another friend invited me to go shopping with her and dragged me into a store which sold divining balls, books on the tarot, tarot cards, et.al. The woman in the store was strangely uncomfortable around me. It was obvious. I tried to get out of there fast without being too obvious about it, but it was so oppressive in there. And since then, I've still felt the oppression. I'm praying about it, and asking for prayers from you. I went to the abbey and brought home some Holy water since then, and filled the fonts.

Sorry for the long post! It's been crazy, right? MY NIECE is recovering SO WELL! Thank you for praying. It's pretty much a miracle, as far as the docs think!
