To Jesus through Mary

Group created by De_Montfort

This is a group for those who wish to go to Christ through his loving Mother. It follows the spirtuality of St. Louis de Montfort and St. Maximilian Kolbe."They will see clearly that she is the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus and will surrender themselves to her, body and soul, without reserve in order to belong entirely to Jesus."

"Now of all God's creatures Mary is the most conformed to Jesus. It therefore follows that, of all devotions, devotion to her makes for the most effective consecration and conformity to him. The more one is consecrated to Mary the more one is consecrated to Jesus. That is why perfect consecration to Jesus is but a perfect and complete consecration of oneself to the Blessed Virgin."
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"Mary was created only for God, and it is unthinkable that she should reserve even one soul for herself. On the contrary she leads every soul striaght to God and to union with him. Mary is the wonderful echo of God. The more a person joins himself to her, the more effectively she unites him to God. When we say 'Mary' she re-echoes 'God". When, like St. Elizabeth, we call her blessed, she gives the honor to God."
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"Let us not imagine, then as some misguided teachers do, that Mary being simply a creature would be a hindarnce to a union with the Creator. Far from it, for it is no longer Mary who lives but Jesus Christ himself, God alone, who lives in her. Her transformation into God far surpasses that experienced by St. Paul and other saints, more than heaven surpasses the earth."
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"But whatever gifts this sovereign and lovable Queen bestows upon us, she is not satisfied until she has given us incarnate Wisdom, Jesus her Son; and she is ever on the look out for those who are worthy of Wisdom, so that she may give him to them."
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"Mary presents our good works to Jesus. She does not keep anything we offer for herself, as if she were our last end, but unfailingly gives everything to Jesus. So by the very fact we give anything to her, we are giving it to Jesus. Whenever we praise and glorify her, she immediately praises and glorifies Jesus. When anyone praises and blesses her, she sings today as she did on the day Elizabeth praised her, 'My soul glorifies the Lord.'"
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"Mary scarcely appeared in the first coming of Jesus Christ. Because she kept herself hidden in this world and in her great humility considered herself lower than dust. But in the second coming of Jesus Christ, Mary must be known and openly revealed by the Holy Spirit so that Jesus may be known, loved and served through her. The reasons which moved the Holy Spirit to hide his spouse during her life and reveal but little of her since the first preaching of the gospel exist no longer. God wishes therefore to reveal Mary, his masterpiece, and make her more known in these latter times."
(St. Louis de Montfort)

"The Mother of God cannot lead us anywhere except to the Lord Jesus."
(St. Maximilian Kolbe)

"Jesus was the first to honor her as His very Mother and we must imitate Him also in this. We will never, as much as we try, love Her with a love equal to that which Jesus loves her."
(St. Maximilian Kolbe)

"Do you forget that not only does Jesus reside and dwell perpetually in Mary's heart, but that He is in truth the heart of her heart and the soul of her soul; and that therefore coming to the heart of Mary means to honor Jesus and to invoke her heart is to invoke Jesus?"
(St. John Eudes)

    Hail Mary full of grace "the Lord is with Thee, in a nobler and more intimate way than he is with the saints and the just, because thou art one with Him, He is thy Son and his Flesh is thy Flesh; thou art united to the Lord because of thy perfect likeness to him and by your mutal love, for thou art his Mother"

    PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

    O most excellent, most glorious,
    most holy and ever inviolate Virgin Mary,
    Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ,
    Queen of the whole world and Mistress of every creature;
    Thou forsakest no one,
    Thou despisest no one,
    Thou sendest away disconsolate no one
    who comes to Thee with a pure and lowly heart;
    despise me not for my countless grievous sins,
    neither forsake me for my exceeding iniquities,
    nor for the hardness and uncleanness of my heart;
    cast me not away, who am Thy servant,
    from Thy grace and love.
    Graciously hear me, a miserable sinner,
    trusting in Thy tender mercy;
    come to my assistance, O most loving Virgin Mary,
    in all my tribulations, trials and necessities;
    obtain for me of Thy dear Son,
    Almighty God and our Lord Jesus Christ,
    the forgiveness and remission of all my sins,
    and the grace of fear and the love of Thee;
    health likewise and chastity of body,
    and deliverance from all evils and dangers
    which beset both soul and body.

    In my last moments do Thou graciously assist me,
    and deliver my soul and the souls of my parents,
    brothers, sisters and friends, kinsmen and benefactors,
    and of all faithful Christians,
    both living and departed,
    from eternal darkness and from all evil,
    by the grace of Him Whom Thou didst bear in Thy sacred womb for nine long months,
    and didst lay in the manger with Thine own pure hands,
    even our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son
    Who is blessed for ever.

    Amen.

    PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY.

    O most Blessed Virgin Mary,
    mother of gentleness and mercy,
    I, an unworthy sinner,
    fly to You with sentiments of confidence and love.
    I beg You Who stood close to Your most beloved Son
    as He hung upon the cross,
    graciously to remain near me,
    a miserable sinner,
    and near all priests who throughout the whole Church
    will offer Holy Mass this day.
    By Your gracious favor help me to offer a sacrifice
    which is worthy and acceptable
    in sight of the most high and undivided Trinity.

    Amen.

    PRAYER FOR PROTECTION AGAINST DEMONS
    (Saint John Bosco, C. 1880)

    O Mary, powerful Virgin,
    You are the mighty and glorious Protector of the Church.
    You are the Marvelous Help of Christians.
    You are Terrible as an Army set in Battle Array.
    You alone have destroyed every heresy in the entire Church.
    In the midst of my anguish, my struggles and my distress,
    Defend me from the power of the enemy,
    And at the hour of my death,
    Receive my soul into Paradise.

    Amen.

    PRAYER FOR LOVE OF JESUS AND MARY

    O Mary, of all creatures Thou art the noblest,
    the purest, the holiest, the most sublime, the most beautiful.
    Oh, that all knew You, my Lady,
    and loved Thee as Thou deserveth!

    I too, though I am a sinner,
    love Thee, my most amiable Queen.
    And yet I love Thee too little.
    I long to love Thee with a greater and more tender affection,
    and it is Thou Who must obtain this grace for me.
    To love Thee is a singular mark of predestination,
    a grace that God grants to those who are saved.

    Then too, my Mother,
    I realize my great obligation to love Thy Son;
    I see that He deserves an infinite love.
    Since Thou desireth so much to see Him loved,
    obtain this grace for me, a deep love for Jesus Christ.

    I have no wish for earthly goods, for honors, for riches.
    I ask for that which Thine heart desires far more,
    to love my God alone.
    Is it likely that Thou wilt not help me in my desire,
    which is so pleasing to Thee?
    Ah no, for even now Thou art praying for me.

    But I am consoled in thinking that so many Souls in Heaven
    and saintly people on earth
    love Thee for Thy goodness and beauty.
    Above all, I rejoice that God Himself loves Thee alone,
    more than He loves all men and Angels together.

    Pray for me, Mary;
    pray and never cease to pray until Thou dost greet me in Heaven.
    There I shall possess my God forever.
    There too I shall possess my dearest Mother.

    Amen.

    THE PRAYER MOTHER OF SWEETNESS

    Mother of Sweetness,
    the faith and love with which Thou giveth Thy Divine Son
    urges me to open my heart to the love of Thy heart
    so that the sweetness of Thy Mother's love may touch me deeply.
    May the sweetness of Thy heart cause me
    to share with others Thy love for Jesus.

    When I meditate on the mysteries of Jesus Christ
    in the most Holy Rosary,
    ever-Virgin Mother Mary,
    reveal to me the sweetness of Thine own Immaculate Heart.

    Amen.

    PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF GOD
    (Authored by the Carmelite nuns in Allentown, Pennsylvania.)

    Blessed be the mind, the heart, the hand,
    That drew this icon fair,
    Of beauty unsurpassable, yet sweet,
    God's Mother, rapt in prayer.
    All pure Her face, Her hands, Her heart unseen,
    Chaste, white rapture, as morning glow:
    She ponders deep. Her sorrow shows,
    She bears the weight of souls on earth below!
    Awesome, yet so love-filled and so warm!
    Immaculate! Her praise shall never cease,
    In hearts that love and cherish Her; God's Mother!
    Totus tuus! Mary's littlest ones,
    in the valley of Saint Therese.

    Amen.

    PRAYER TO MARY

    Mary, most holy Virgin and Queen of Martyrs,
    accept the sincere homage of my filial affection.
    Into Thy Heart, pierced by so many swords,
    do Thou welcome my poor soul.
    Receive it as the companion of Thy sorrows
    at the foot of the Cross,
    on which Jesus died for the redemption of the world.
    With Thee, O sorrowful Virgin,
    I will gladly suffer all the trials,
    contradictions, and infirmities
    which it shall please Our Lord to send me.
    I offer them all to Thee in memory of Thy sorrows, so that:
    every thought of my mind
    and every beat of my heart
    may be an act of compassion and of love for Thee.
    And do Thou, sweet Mother,
    have pity on me,
    reconcile me to Thy Divine Son, Jesus;
    keep me in His grace and assist me in my last agony,
    so that I may be able to meet Thee in Heaven
    and sing Thy glories.

    Most holy Virgin and Mother,
    Whose soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow
    in the Passion of Thy Divine Son,
    and Who in His glorious Resurrection
    wast filled with never ending joy at His triumph,
    obtain for us who call upon Thee,
    so to be partakers in the adversities of Holy Church
    and the Sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff,
    as to be found worthy to rejoice with them
    in the consolations for which we pray,
    in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord.

    Amen.

    MARIAN PRAYER OF SAINT GREGORY

    Mary, You are the vessel
    and tabernacle containing all Mysteries.
    You know what the Patriarchs did not know;
    You experienced what was not revealed to the Angels;
    You heard what the Prophets did not hear.
    In short, everything that was hidden
    from preceding generations
    was made known to You;
    even more,
    most of these wonders depended on you.

    Amen.
