Living out the Fatima message!!!

Group created by Gods_Peace

Their are two key messages Mary tried to convey to us at Fatima

-prayer (especially the Rosary) To bring peace to mankind, and to the whole world.

-Making reparation to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Most Holy Heart of Mary.

Help live out this message by keeping it in your daily rosary intentions, in your thoughts, your will, and your deeds.

Excuse me for the length of my previous post. I sure don't know it all, I only know that I believe that Our Lady appeared at Lourdes and at Fatima. Ave Maria

tammany, thank you for sharing the exchange between Sister Lucia and Fr. Rafferty.

The information I am providing is taken from a book written by Sister Lucia: "Calls" from the message at Fatima.

Excerpt taken from the book: (page 180)

"In my view the apparition of Our Lady of Mount Carmel means total consecration to God. By showing herself clothed in a religious habit, she wished to represent all the other habits by which those who are totally consecrated to God can be distinguished from ordinary secular Christians."

    and:
    (page 195)

"One can discern another meaning in the apparition of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, namely the call to holiness. In it we see one who, like ourselves, lived on earth and sanctified herself, but now lives and reigns with God in Heaven, enjoying the fruit and the reward of this sanctification."

Notice that Father states: "Everyone in America believes tthere are four conditions of the Fatima message."

Besides the aforementioned book I also have "Fatima in Lucia's own words" Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. I do not recall mention of the brown scapular, but I will recheck. I wear the brown scapular because of Our Lady's scapular promise.

Father mentions only four conditions from Fatima, Her message is much more than that,

I believe the conditions are how to make reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Ergo, the first Saturdays.

The apparitions of the Angel are food for soul searching. How great is our God! I thank Him for the messages at Fatima.

    Ave Maria

Because of a rather unusual event in my life in 1995, I started wearing the brown scapular. From what I have read about Fatima, it seems to me that the scapular, too, is an important part of the message. I did a copy and paste of a conversation between Sister Lucia and a Fr. Rafferty in 1950.

Exchange between Sister Lucia and Fr. H. Rafferty, August 15, 1950:

Fr.: Did Our Lady of Mount Carmel come at Fatima?
Lucia: Oh, yes Father, she did.
Fr.: Why did Our Lady come that way? … What did she mean?
Lucia: She meant that we should wear the scapular….
Fr.: Everyone in America believes there are four conditions of the Fatima message. First of all, we are to say the rosary every day. Secondly, we are to offer the sacrifices of our daily lives. Thirdly, we are to make communions of reparations on First Saturdays. Finally, we are to consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Lucia: Oh, there is one more condition–the wearing of the scapular–the symbol of our consecration….
Fr.: Which is more important: the saying of the daily rosary or the wearing of the scapular all of the time?
Lucia: Father, the rosary and the scapular are inseparable. You cannot have one without having the other.

It is obvious that all of you in this group have a deep love and devotion to Our Lady, what are your thoughts?

Our Lady of Fatima, in your message you called us to faith, to adoration, to hope, to love God, to forgiveness, to prayer, to sacrifice, to share in the Eucharist, to intimacy with the Most Holy Trinity, to the daily recitation of the Rosary, to devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to reflect on eternal life, to the Apostolate, to persevere in virture, to stop offending God, to the santification of the family, to perfection in the Christian life, to a life of total consecration to God, to holiness, and to follow the road to Heaven. Pray for us, Holy Mother, that we will always heed your message and strive for perfection.

    Ave Maria

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen Ave Maria

*Four of the things the Blessed Mother asked for:
    1. prayer, especially the Rosary
    2. sacrifices for sinners
    3. the daily fulfillment of our duties in life
    4. the patient bearing of our trials and sufferings
