You might want to check with ...priests@priestsforlifecanada.com .... They used to have a template that many different Councils used to use. They may still have it and it would be easy to put a simple web page up if they do.

    Hello Everyone,

I will be the new Grand Knight of council 1648 in Apalachicola, Florida, effective July 1, 2009.

I am interested in building a website for our council and wondered if anyone knows of any webspace being provided by the state of Florida Council or anywhere else? I'd also be interested in logos, or templates, for a Knights of Columbus website.

I'd appreciate any direction anyone has to offer.

    Thanks and God Bless,
    Howard Wesson

Thanks for letting me join the group.
I don't belong to KSC but to a similar South African organisation called the Knights of da Gama.
Did you know that we are all connected in that KSC and KDG (and many other worldwide orders of Catholic knights) belong to the International Alliance of Catholic Knights?
Ours is a small order - our Council No 53 is being inaugurated today.
I have been a member of St Anne Council No 1 in Durban for 53 years.
I was privileged to attend a meeting of your council in St Cornelius parish, Pennsylvania some years ago

I am a Past Grand Knight of Montreal Council 284; a past Financial Secretary for St. Augustine Council 7940 in Moncton, NB, and have been Communications Director of that Council for the past 9 years. I have been a member of the Knights since 1966 and a Member of the 4th Degree Msgr Roy M. MacDonald also here in Moncton.

I was saddened when I read "Why you are not to be trusted...by: momv107940" . Unfortunately, like any other Organization whether it be Church sponsored or Lay in nature, we are always bound to run into every form of person. The gauntlet runs from those who suffer the Napoleon Complex ( I am God and there is no-one of important but me) to the Certified Members of the NBA (Nothing but Air Society who promises that he will do everything but ends his term doing nothing).

We the Knights of each and every Council elect our Officers, we are a Ground up Organization; from Council to District, from District to State or Province, from State or Province to Supreme. Our Supreme Knight is not directly, and I have not known this to be otherwise, involved in Council matters.

There is always a way around someone who suffers from the Napoleon Complex particularly if he is causing disharmony within the Council. Over the years I have found the route of the Council Chaplain to be very helpful. In other cases, I have approached the District Deputy.

No man is an Island unto himself. There are ways to resolve conflict within a Council structure. And, at the very worst, a Knight may pay his annual dues and sit out the term of the individual with whom he is in conflict.

I do not know the circumstances of the particular matter this dear lady refers to and I do not know the opposing view, so I cannot recommend a course of action which may be remedial in nature.

    To jamesdunnaway:

No time limit between, in fact, don't wait to do your 2nd and 3rd, either. Oftentimes a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree will all be held on the same day. Usually the 2nd and 3rd are offered on the same day, too.

There are no time requirements between the degrees except for the 4th Degree (which requirement has recently been reduced from no sooner than "1 year" to "six months" following your 1st Degree).
