Go Sell Something! (Support Group for Sales People)

Group created by whatevergirl

Are you in some type of sales job and looking for encouragement during this volatile economy? Need cold calling advice? Want to share what helps you to be good at what you do? Seeking prayers and helpful advice on those days when you just are not selling ANYTHING?

Let's face it, sales is hard work, and in this economy, it can be downright daunting. But, together, we can support one another...and hopefully, give each other new and refreshing ideas to help us forge through, and keep SELLING!

    Prayer Before a Day's Work
Direct, we beg you, O Lord, our actions by your holy inspirations, and grant that we may carry them out with your gracious assistance, that every prayer and work of ours may begin always with you, and through you be happily ended. Amen.

Wanted to start a section for everyone to say hello, and introduce themselves, and their profession. Don't have to be explicit with details, but just the gist of what you do in sales...and why you joined here. Look forward to getting to know ya.

Hi GD...Happy Friday to all. That is great that you can attend mass at lunch. That must be a wonderful way to keep focused on what is most important. I too enjoy weekly mass...very solemn. Thanks for sharing.

Still working on several projects trying to get them closed soon. I am also taking advantage of going to Mass during my lunch. It has been a great time to be with the Lord in the Eucharist. I love the change of a weekday Mass too, very simple and pure, no music, very to the point Homily and a very prayerful 30min. focused on Christ.

Oh no, priori... That stinks. I'm sorry you have to be the one to do that, and that people will be laid off soon. I really pray that this economy turns around soon! Thanks for stopping in tonight, and sharing w/us.

Hi whatevergirl. We are down 35% year over year and I'll be telling more people that they are being laid off. I hate that part of my job. This is a very therapeutic place to come for support. Thank you for your care and maintenance of this group.

How is everyone doing this week? I actually set up a nice oppty with a company this morning. I prayed the Rosary before work today, and admiited to God to heal me of my complaining spirit. That, I admit I have been doing. *blush* I have many blessings to be thankful for. It is easy to get caught up in the negative drama played out on the news with the recession. I choose not to participate in the recession...lol

Hope everyone has a blessed rest of their day.

Ro............"I'll have to contemplate it further."

Contemplation is good Ro. Might I suggest this order of contemplation:

Contemplation > Type > Contemplation > Edit > Contemplation > Spell Check if you're like me haha > Enter Key.

Well, then I apologize. I don't think the first really applies to you. Your postings I think give ample evidence of this. The second, though I think applies to all of us. We get so caught up in our worldly concerns that we forget God doesn't care how much is in our bank accounts, what kind of house we live in or the clothes we wear. The less we are attached to our worldly possessions the easier it is to deal with the rough times we're going through. I wanted to give you both interpretations or concepts just in the interest of being thourough. It's my nature. I'm not saying I'm not poor in spirit, especially, in the second version. I feel pretty confidant I'm not poor in spirit in the first interpretation either, but I'm willing to accept that I might be.

I guess I should have been more careful, but frankly, I thought I had earned more of your trust and you would have given me the benefit of the doubt. I'm so sorry if I caused you pain. All I can do is ask you to forgive me and try to do better. As I stated, I was trying to answer a question on another thread on the meaning of "poor in spirit", I looked it up and felt moved to relate my findings to you. I don't know why the spirit moved me in that direction. I'll have to comtemplate it further.

Ro, Whatevergirl started this Group and from her writings and self giving to others on CAF she is one of the kindest and humble Forumies and Mom's, I have ever seen on CAF. Are you sure you are interpreting things correctly?

God the Father hears all our prayers. I pray almost everyday the Holy Spirit will guide me to good work, that I may provide for my family. And as we go about our work day as Lay Faithful, He will Bless us in His time. Being "Poor in Spirit" has a lot to do with our humility and humbleness before our Lord.

I'm not arrogant, Ro. I struggle with things, but arrogance is not one of them...I feel a little confused, and somewhat taken aback by your post. (and offended, to be honest) Please be mindful of people's feelings on here.
