Hello, crenfro, and welcome! Journey is the group leader and will fill you in, or perhaps one of the others, but I am new here as well. Just wanted to say, "Hi!"

    Blessings,
    Kimberly

Family letters went in the mail today. I'll be sending copies to all the pen pals volunteers tomorrow so you'll know what your pen pals inmates have been reading and you can perhaps follow-up. For those of you still waiting for your pen pal information.....it's coming. I've worked all morning on this, so please be patient. I have to visit my mom in the hospital this afternoon and stop over at her house to pick up the mail and feed her kitties. My husband left a list of housework he'd like me to do before he gets home at 5:30. He's so helpful!! He's actually very wonderful and very understanding in allowing me to carry on this ministry with all the other things going on. We covet your prayers.

Grace and Peace to all of you through our Lord Jesus Christ!

    Kimberly,
Catholic Home Study Service (if you do a web search) will send the Catholic bible study to him for free. I support them, but they send the study to all of the inmates I give them. I spoke to Reuben at St. Joe's, but he didn't say anything about anything being free.

    Ed,
How did you come into contact with Reuben to begin with?
Perhaps if the inmates do the same thing, they'll receive the same free catechism. We need those who would be willing to support an inmate for things like this....include the cd players and headphones and Catholic teaching materials. I think the Catholic Church would support something like this. maybe through St. Vincent De Paul....or through the diocese of the particular prison. We need to look into these things. I am limited on the time I can spend on this......wow....it's very time consuming and I'm not able to hardly handle what I have already.

May God reward you for all you do to support this ministry in prayer and other acts of kindness,
    Kristine Lee

Ed, I'm so glad thngs seem to be looking up for your cousin and her son. Let me ask you a question. Are you saying that St. Joseph Communications may send a free Catechism to an inmate thta I am corresponding with in Louisiana? He may be able to get one, but it not... He is really interested in learning about the Catholic Church.

Well, thank you all for the prayers. I felt so much better that I was able to rely on you all for this help in praying for my cousin. The update is he is still struggling but he did go to his mom's home for the weekend. So, that is a positve sign. He was suppoed to stop by here today, but so far nothing. We will see how it goes.
I havee been busy with school, but thank you all for helping out with the pen pals. I say this on behalf of these people who need you. I know what a difference one person can make in our lives. I can tell you that for me the guys at St. Joe's Communications helped me out a lot when they sent me a catchesim. I still have it today. I did not ask them for anything but they mailed it to me while I was in prison and I would read the bible and the catechism everyday. Things like this and the daily devotionals are what we need in there. It goes a long way to giving you a way to connect with the Chruch. So, may God reward all of you.!!

    Ed,
How is your cousin's son doing? I pray he's come through a dark time and is feeling better now.

    Dear Kristine,

May God reward you for your compassion and hard work on behalf of the humblest of God's children, the imprisoned and outcast of Society! May your reward in Heaven be great!

    Sincerely,
    Kimberly
