    Good evening, all,

    Hi, sheilakathy,
    I think your poem faithfully shows that there's things which value far outstrips monetary standards.

    Hi, Kelly,
    I think your poem shows the deep need for faith and love to go hand and hand.

    God loves all of you and yours, lurkers, too,
    Don

    How Can This Be!

    It cost more
    to mail it
    that the value
    of it

    Yet, its value
    to her
    will outweigh
    costly fur.

    sk, still realing from my visit to the USPS

    Good evening, all,

    Hi, Rose,
    Love your Advent reflections.

    Hi, Kelly,
    Your poem describes it aptly.
    Glad you get to test sooner. I always admired my elders when younger. Good for you.

    Howdy, Justin,
    Welcome to our thread. You have made a good entrance with your poem.

    Grey clouds hang a curtain of fog over the neighborhood, softening the outlines of trees and houses. Cars and pedestrians not far off are made shadowy and mysterious. I love the mystery in the fog.

    God loves all of you, lurkers, too,
    Don

    Here's one poem I wrote a long time ago, after I'd experienced a European autumn and winter for the first time (we had just a dry and rainy season in Zimbabwe where I grew up). It should suit the time of year in the USA.

    Autumn

    Autumn's leaves are growing golden,
    aaOlden she bereaves
    aaaaAnd leaves
    A trace of dust, of lace and rust,
    aaA-fluttering in the breeze.

    A golden fire from her heart,
    aaBoth art and ire
    aaaaConspire,
    And come bedecking, crimson flecking
    aaSummer's verdant shire.

    Autumn tires, weighed with age,
    aaThen rage her golden fires,
    aaaaFuneral pyres,
    Of leaves descending, trees unbending,
    aaWhilst the wind admires.

    Autumn lifts, her violence blown,
    aaThen silence drifts,
    aaaaAlone,
    To captivate her grey estate
    aaAnd make it winter's own.

    I just found out that I may be able to take my state exam earlier so happy.......I was raised by older people and I love the elderly ..they are precious.......like that of a new born infant.They are so full of knowledge and are well learned.They have already sowed their wild oats and ther conversations never bore me.They are the true scholars and much can be learned from them......... I will have much gratitude and thanks to be able to make one's life a little more comfortable and to hold another one's hand through death.

    Winter backyard

    Moss falls form trees;
    winds whistle through leaves

    Upon the pond water ripples;
    through the air leaves wipple

    Every thing in simple state;
    a seaon the Lord did create

    Leaves burnt orange and red;
    nest of babies being fed

    Breezes crisply downward blow;
    ponds waters slowly flow

    All this beauty from the Lord;
    a winter season to be adored---Kelly O'Mara

    I looked out my slidding glass door.....and it was beautiful today...absolutely beautiful----Love and blessings!!!!!

    Good afternoon, all,

    Just checking in. I love all of your poems, jokes and sharing your lives.

    A relative with the same last name as mine told me this one:

    A young couple were engaged, he a Baptist and she a Catholic. No long before the wedding, he was visiting his fiancee and told her, "Did you know, there'll be six feet of snow on the ground the day of our wedding?"

    She exclaims, "There better not be!"

    Grinning, he retorts, "If you want to get married, there better be.'

    He was taller than me.

    God loves all of you, lurkers, too,
    Don
