Oh Uncle Francis!

I missed you by two weeks
if only I had known
you were on your way home
that last journey we all make alone.

I called your phone
it would ring and ring
I wondered why you didn't answer
Oh! How I feel like crying...

The last time I saw you
I was only six
you tried to correct a great wrong
but it was something no one could fix.

For whatever reason
it was part of God's plan
at least I'm happy to hear
you didn't die a lonely man.

I'm so happy to meet
all this family I never knew
isn't it sad it took your death
to bring us out of all we went through.

My godfather, how I loved you so
I know you must be smiling from heaven
at all we reunited family below
who've become what you hoped for then.

Twisted

I believe, because of sin and time,
that the world is twisted.
Schools teach for test and do not test on what is taught.
Hospitals heal for a price and not to help another.
And children act like adults while adults act like children.
With the help of God, our twisted world can become better,
but now, most of it is twisted.

Sonnet: True Faith

Yes, faith can lift a mountain from its base!
Yes, faith can turn a river off its course;
Yes, faith can win an impossible race!
Yes, faith can calm a lion as he roars!

Sure, faith can do impossible a thing!
Sure, faith can hold a marriage till the end!
Sure, faith can well a happy ending bring!
Sure, faith can truly iron bars too bend!

True faith can make a friendship very strong!
True faith unites two lovers tie the knot!
True faith can make miles look like one furlong!
True faith can win a war although ill-fought!

None can afford to lose faith since their birth,
And faith in God is what we need on earth.

Gods Holy Will, what a beautiful hymn, Davenport, don't know how it is that I have never read about him, there are so many poets and writers in the world, but somehow I haven't, and I read an awful lot of poems. I'll have to check this guy out. Thanks for sharing

horgan, you seem to have a great love for Jesus. Me too, he has been so good to me. I do trust him with everything in my life.He may not always answer my prayers at the time I ask him too, but he sure does answer them right on time. Jesus I trust in you. I say amen too.

Don, true indeed. Envy and jealousy is of Satan. Although we all have been both at one time or another in our lives. We are human.

Sometimes, when I ponder the Ten Commandments, I can see where breaking the Tenth Commandment leads to breaking many of the other nine.

Thank you God's Holy Will and Brenda for your prayers for Cookie Dreda. Thank you Brenda, for the scripture ... I often review the Ten Commandments in my heart.
Cookie and I are Christian Friends with no illicit relationship.

I also review our Lord's two Great Commandments, too, quite often.
