    My Lord it's You

    There was a time, not long ago, I worried, what will tomorrow bring

    Now I just take it all in stride, one day at a time, while picking on my strings

    There was a time, not long ago, I lived, like a man without a clue

    Then one day you opened up my eyes, then I realized, the meaning of truth

    My Lord it's you --- my Lord it's you
    You are everything I dream of, everything I long for - my Lord it's you

    My Lord it's you --- my Lord it's you
    Seeing is believing, you gave my life new meaning - my Lord it's you

    You opened up my eyes - gave new meaning to my life - My Lord! - My sweet loving Lord! --- My Lord it' You!!!

    Hi Don,
    I understand that the church has not yet approved Medjugorje and I am not pushing it on anyone. Remember, John Paul 11 said that if people go there and convert there, repent there, and find peace there, than he did not see any harm in going there. I challenge any catholic to read Our Lady's messages from the past two years and to relate them to the conditions of today. This would be true also of the condition we find ourselves in here in the United States of America. Peace, Anthony

    Good evening, all,

    Hi, Tony,
    I'd think that the approved apparition of Our Lady Of Quito (Medjugorje hasn't been approved) was more appropriate. Here's link to an article about Our Lady of Quito:

    http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/comm...e-restoration/

    I had a reflection. Let me see if I can remember it.

    Oh, yes; Church and taxes.

    Nowadays, lots of American churches, including the Catholic Church, get tax breaks because of Congressional legislation. The thing is, that's not the way it was in the early Church.
    There were no church buildings, for at least the first two hundred years of the Christian church. Members met in the catacombs, cemeteries sometimes and often in private homes, to celebrate the Mass.
    Also, the early Church paid taxes. Remember? In the gospel, Jesus disciples asked about taxes and Jesus went to a stream, a fish plopped out onto the ground and had a gold coin in it's mouth. Jesus took that coin to pay their taxes.
    So, my reflection points out, when the Head of our Church pays tax, we should follow His example.
    That might help us get closer to the Spirit of the early Church.

    God loves all of you and yours, lurkers, too,
    Don

    "Blessed Light of God's Glory"

    Revelation 12:1

    A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun,

    and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

    Follow me out of the desert children,

    The light of a new dawn is before you;

    The Blessed light of God's majestic glory,

    Virgin Mary "Queen of Medjugorje;"

    I wish to lead you out of the darkness,

    Away from the place that evil reigns;

    I wish to lead you to the peace of Jesus,

    Free from sin's shackles and chains;

    Come follow me my beloved children,

    Lasting peace and joy is awaiting you;

    I need you my children to be victorious,

    Be nourished by the "Father's" tree of truth;

    Many of God's sheep have been scattered,

    Choosing to leave the fold and run away;

    Those who hear the voice of the "Shepherd",

    Share the light of victory and shall be saved;

    This is the time for the "Queen of heaven"

    The "Mother of God" clothed with the sun;

    I've come to do battle with the dragon,

    Lead you to "Eternal Love" my beloved Son;

    This is my time and the appointed hour,

    In a world where evil has come to rule;

    The time to crush the head of the dragon,

    The "Blessed Light of God's Glory" is awaiting for you!

    Good evening, all,

    Hi, Alexander,
    Thank you. Your friend put it right on.

    Hi, prodigalson,
    Your "Word vs words" reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe. Great poem.

    God loves all of you and yours, lurkers, too,
    Don

    "Word vs. words"

    if my orange could red the green of my blue
    i'd bouquet a dirt road with floral entreaties
    that would cascade the midday dust's dusky destiny
    with saffron choruses of purple hymns
    and offer up prayers in tertiary tongues

    i'd sidestep the mediation of a medium
    and craft beatific lenses for all
    to pierce the facade of turned phrases
    and see that every poem is as straw:

    a scarecrowed simulacrum of the word made flesh, at best
    or a haystack heaped upon the needle that knit the poet's breath.

    Good evening all...
    Thank you Don. Beautifully said.
    Sometimes it's the pure and simple truths that zap us into the state of grace required for a closer walk with God.
    Recently I was in a very dark place filled with guilt and unworthiness.
    I was trying, but the lights just were not on.
    A close friend offered me a very beautiful insight. She said:
    Jesus died for our sins. Who are we to require anything more?
    A zinger to the soul for me, needless to say, my lights went on!
    Take care all, peace and God Bless

    Good afternoon, all,

    I would like to repeat:

    God is love
    And God's love
    Is good love.

    God loves all of you and yours, lurkers, too,
    Don

    My reflection for the day:

    " As a general rule, people, even the wicked, are much more naive and simple-hearted than we suppose. And we ourselves are, too." - Fyodor Dostoyevsky

    And, a little poetic scrap I just managed to squeeze out of my rusty brain:

    "Freeze Frame"

    frost bitten lips crack a cracking smile,
    my frozen heart beating in my ice chest
    snow covered tracks of my tiptoed steps
    in the shadow of a shivering sun
