That is beautiful. Although I don't yet know the path I am to take, your poem speaks to me. Thank you for sharing.

THE VOICE OF GOD
I do not hear the voice of God
as you and I would speak;
and yet I know the will of God
‘though I am poor and weak.

I hear Him in the thunder clap
and in the gentle rain;
I’ve come to know the will of God
through darkness and in pain.

Through Scriptures read at home, at Church,
through Sacrament and song
there is a sense in which I hear
God’s voice so rich and strong.

I may not hear the voice of God
as you and I would speak;
and yet God’s will is known to me
‘though I am poor and weak.

Good Friday

Our Mother Mary, most royal person,
Enthroned by God, with her son again;
Clothed in golden robes, a presence to behold,
We love you as none other but your son.

A son you birthed, a son you grieved,
A sword that pierced your heart;
The pain transcends no other.
You cried, I'm sure, as he passed on.

The climb up Calgary unending,
Jesus, so broken, so dirty.
How hard it was for you to witness,
Dear mother, how hard to be strong.

Tenderly you held Him in your arms,
Washing blood and dirt from His holy body;
The dirt of all us sinners
Cleansed by Him for us.

Anguish and torment your lot this day
As others stood by to see Him die.
You must have prayed, you must have cried,
Cried tears of a mother for us all.

His heart pierced with the lance,
Your heart pierced with the sword,
Following His shrouded body to the tomb,
Remembering that God had placed Him in your womb.

God is all power.
