Greetings, and God's blessings to you all.
(Today is the 27th Sunday of the year.)

    Te Deum:
You are God; we praise you; You are the Lord; we acclaim you; you are the eternal Father; all creation worships you.
To you all angels, all the powers of heaven, Cherubim and Seraphim sing in endless praise: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
The glorious company of apostles praises you. The noble fellowship of prophets praises you. The white-robed army of martyrs praises you.
Throughout the world the holy Church acclaims you; Father, of majesty unbounded, your true and only Son, worthy of all worship, and the Holy spirit, advocate and guide.
You, Christ are the king of glory the eternal Son of the Father.
When you became man to set us free you did not spurn the Virgin's womb.
You overcame the sting of death, and opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.
You are seated at God's right hand in glory.
We believe that you will come, and be our judge. Come then, Lord, and help your people, bought with the price of your own blood, and bring us with your saints to glory everlasting.

May God bless us; protect us from all evil. and lead us to everlasting life.- Amen

    Hi Aspire and everyone else!

I'm interested in the eremtic life, as well as consecrated virginity. I once thought of being a nun [Carmelite] but was not accepted. I've been in two Third Orders in succession-Franciscans, then Discalced Carmelites-but left the first, and was asked to leave the second.

So I live alone as a single middle-aged woman in the world. I'm unemployed. I go to a Perpetual Adoration chapel that's in my hometown. I do 'go outside' to shop for groceries, attend Mass on Sunday, and go to the library (that's the only way I can get online with my laptop computer).

I have often thought of consecrated virginity, but I have no spiritual director-haven't had one in 16 years. I go to the EF Mass exclusively, but I don't think that the priests who offer the Mass would know anything about CVs. They'd probably think of it as an 'invention of Vatican II'. So I don't say anything to them about it.

So I just 'live in solitude'.....

    The feast of THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS;
(The 26th Saturday of the year)

O God, in your infinite providence you deign to send your holy angels to be our guardians. Grant to us who pray to you that we may be defended by them in this life and rejoice with them in the next.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. - Amen.

Greetings and God's Blessing to all:
Today is the memorial of SAINT THERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS, VIRGIN

St. Theresa, born. 1873 in Alencon, France, joined the Carmelite monastery at Lissive at 15. By word and deed she taught the virtues of simplicity and trust in God. She died Sept. 30, 1897.

God our Father, You have promised your kingdom to those who are willing to become like little children. Help us to follow the way of St. Theresa, so that by her prayers we may know your eternal glory.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever, and ever - Amen.

Today is the memorial of St Jerome, priest and doctor:
St. Jerome was born at stridom in Dalmatia about 340. He studied and was baptized in Rome. He became an ascetic and traveled to the East where he was ordained a priest. Later, he was a secretary to Pope Damasus, translated the holy scriptures into Latin, and promoted the Monastic life. He settled in Bethlehem where he died in 420.

    Let us pray:
Father, you gave St. Jerome delight in his study of holy scripture. May your people find in your word the food of salvation and the fountain of life.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. - Amen.

Today, on the feast day of St. Michael, St Gabrial, and St. Raphal let us pray:

    St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. - Amen

    St. Gabriel the Archangle
O God, who from among all your angels, chose the Archangel Gabriel to announce the mystery of the Incarnation, mercifuliy grant that we, who solemnly remember him on earth, may feel the benefits of his patronage in heaven, who lives and reigns in heaven for every and every. - Amen

    St. Raphael the Archangel
O God, send the Archangel Raphael to our assistance. May he who stands forever praising you at your throne, present our humble petitions to be blessed by you. Through Christ our Lord. - Amen.

Greetings brothers & sisters in Christ. I came across a brochure, the other day, on a group of penitents living St Francis' rule of 1221. It sounded ideal for those living the consecrated life. I've included some info on this group.

Fulfilling the Catholic Church's Call to Penance and Repentance in the Modern World

    The Confraternity of Penitents

"You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole soul, and with all your mind, (and) you shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Jesus' words as recorded in Matthew 22:37-38)

    Penance as a Vocation

Might a vocation to live a life of continual penance (conversion) in the manner of the Confraternity of Penitents be for you? Only the Holy Spirit knows! But you can be sure that He wants you to find out. If you are fourteen years of age or older, you can be part of the Confraternity of Penitents.

    Contact Information

Please contact us and we will pray for you as you discern a call to "live the Rule of 1221 as closely as possible to its original intent.

I hope you find it useful.

Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on us sinners.

Greetings: I've noticed that there are large gaps in your correspondence within this group. That would seem to fit right into eremtic living. I think I would feel at home here...

    Jesus Christ,: Son of God,
    Have mercy on us sinners.

Hello. I'm an author of fiction and history. I'm about to publish an historical novel concerning lepers in the American Civil War era. I would like to use the image of St. Francis embracing a leper that appeared on this website (St. Francis and the leper, posted by Chris Dickson) as part of the cover art.
I wonder if anyone knows the origin and/or ownership of the image and, if it's under your control, whether you would consider granting me the limited right to use it as described. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

    Sincerely, Phil Edwards
