For those of us who are often lonely, feel cut off from other Catholics, but would very much like to talk about the faith with like-minded people. For whatever reason you turn to the internet for your faith community: maybe you have a hard time connecting with folks at your parish, maybe your work schedule is crazy, maybe you're just so shy you can barely talk to people.
Here nobody is viewed as "pathetic" for seeking community and friendship online. Thank God for the internet. Thank God for community.
Hi, even if fellowship is appealing, the desire for truth is much stronger. This is why you are in the Catholic Church now, because your need for truth is stronger than your need for fellowship.
And only in the Catholic Church you can find the truth your heart yearns for.
Thank you Linda. I will research Bishop Tobin and pray for congressman Kennedy also. I'm sure Bishop Tobin story will be an inspiration to me because I'm never quite sure how to address people who make fun of me for my beliefs so I hope to learn from him.
I am so sorry that I don't keep up with news reports. The Kennedy's have had so much pain over the years. It can either strengthen ones faith or make them bitter. I will pray for the healing powers of the Holy Spirit to touch the congressman's soul and heal his pain. Thank you for replying to my post. - Rose
Hi Sister Leocadia and welcome to this group.
Thank be to God for your vocation and for the service your congregation provides to the community.
I would like to ask why you are alone in the house at the moment and when your sisters are going to join you?
I belong to a Marian prayer group and every first Saturday of the month we gather for a prayer retreat in a Franciscan convent. Besides, we ( some 30 people) spend one week in another Franciscan convent during the Summer: we make the experience of a real monastic life with Mass in the morning and in the evening, three Rosaries, Lauds, Vespers and Compline, meditation, Adoration, plus cooking and cleaning. The only thing we cannot practise is....silence!!
