Well all we have now is a prayer and some serious execution by the ND team.
FYI: I don't watch the game live. I like to DVR and watch after the game has been running an hour or so. I want to watch the game not commercials. Also, we usually attend evening Mass on Saturday.
My prediction: ND 34 Pitt 31

Yeah, as a recruiter he's superb. I had high hopes for his play calling ability, but the media really hammered him for the play calling in the red zone against Navy. It's easy to second guess over Sunday breakfats. My biggest problem with him is the poor or lack of halftime adjustments.

I think Weis should stay because he's a great recruiter, and a good offensive playcaller. You're right, the runblocking should have been a lot different against a small team like Navy. The size differential of our O line to their D line was one of the biggest you'll see in D1 football.

I'm more hopeful after reading the article by Somogyi about Saturday's contest. It's a good read and he makes a lot of sense.
Welcome to the group JD & MD. I have surveyed predictions about Saturday at various web sites and blogs. The predictions are split pretty evenly, but all are looking for it to be a close contest. Most spread are under a touchdown and quite a few have it within a field goal. Looks like another nail biter.

This looks like a good game. I hope ND beats Pitt, than Pitt channels the energy to beat CINCY.

Lou Somogyi, senior editor at
www.blueandgold.com
, has an excellent article outlining 5 reasons ND is poised for a big win this saturday at Pitt.

Pitt is tough. As far as looking past ND to #5 Cincinnati, that would be poor coaching.

NBC sports contributor, John Tamanaha is predicting a ND victory (34-33) over Pitt this Saturday. The odds makers have the spread at 6.5 points for Pitt. JT seems to think that the panthers will have their eye set to coming games that they need to win in order to take their conference. They will not be focused on beating ND. Gee, I hope so!!
