HI! I wonder if any of you have read books about the Virgin Mary. One that I am reading now are visions of Mary by Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich who was a nun back in the 16th century. It is called "The Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary". It's an interesting book, although I realize that some of these visions may be her interpretations and not that of the Church.

Also, on Friday, November 21st is the Feast of the Presentation of Mary in the temple while she was just a small child. I read that Blessed Therese of Calcutta relied on praying the "Memorare" with her fellow sisters when they were in need of something, and this idea has spread.

I think it would be a good idea to pray this prayer beginning now and pray it so if the health bill is passed by the Senate the abortion clause will be voted down.

I've read that the pro-choice people are angry that this was voted down and will be campaigning extensively for it to pass. I think that prayer (especially the Rosary and the Memorare) may be good to do.

I wish that our Bishops and priests would encourage an all out Rosary Campaign to combat this, abortion and other things that are endangering our country.

Perhaps we individually could at least pass this on to friends, parishioners, etc. I think prayer and sacrifices would be better than monetary assistance.

Have you meditated on the 18 years that Mary and Joseph lived with Jesus and the work and love they put forward in teaching Him to walk and to read and to learn the bible stories.
The joy of having a beautiful little baby.
The love that Jesus and His Mother has for each other can only be understood by another mother and son. Mary isn't a god, but she has the ear of the Son of God.
Have you ever been at a very important meeting and your mother called, what did you do; your stopped the meeting and answered your mother's call if you could, Jesus can.

Hello all! I just wanted to say that when I first began exploring my Catholic faith, it was difficult for me to pray for the Blessed Virgin's intercession, knowing how deeply I have sinned. One day I was walking and I was stressed out. So I just spoke from the heart, and said something to the effect of "Mary, Mother of God, help take these burdens from my shoulders, let me feel a measure of peace, please," and on my very next breath I felt calmness flow into me, I felt very much at peace. I'm only sorry I waited so long!

I remember I developed my adoration and devotion to the Virgin Mary whilst in 7th grade. My History teacher just adored her and always would tell us about her powers of Intercession and how she has visited people her on Earth (and during modern times to boot). I just thought that was so cool of her, and become an instant advocate and "fan" of the Virgin. She is my Patroness Saint.

ok firstly, it is impossible to have a misconception about something that is faith based, the whole point of religion, regardless of what the belief is to have blind faith in something that can neither be proved nor disproved, so to claim that protestants have it wrong is absurd, secondly although i dont agree with protestantism at least they worship a private and personal god who isnt whatever your local priest decides him to be,

It's so sad that the Protestants have so many misconceptions on our doctine, especially on Our Blessed Mother. We do not worship her. She has many hundreds of titles because she's took the time to visit those who truly love Him. So do know that on Judgment Day, she will be at Christ's side to help him judge the living and the dead. Because when He suffered and died, she suffered even more with Him.
