AnneLee, I am a cradle Catholic and I have experienced the the same as you discribe. I found my solution in joining Christians Encounter Christ in my diocese. It is based on Curcillio that is found in other disocese. After being a member for 5 yrs I was playing for a Mass and realized that in 5 yrs I knew more people by name than I knew after 17 yrs in my parish. Being envolved with other active Catholics and not the ones who only go to church on Sun, has changed my life. My life with Christ has grown far beyond I ever imagined with the support of my Catholic friends.

Hello all. I'm joining the group because although I never regretted my decision to become a Catholic I have so many questions. When I go to Mass, I feel like an outsider. I try to talk with the others but I'm usually there alone and most people are with family. Really, Mass isn't the big problem. I want Jesus to work in my life and I pray and I pray but I cannot hear Him. I read spiritual books and talk with believers. I pray for God's Will for me but I don't have a clue what that might be. Has anyone heard an answer and known what they should be doing?

My other big "issue" is why are the people who claim to be the most religious sometimes the cruelest?

    Yours in Christ, Anne Lee

Just joined CAF and felt this group was suited for me. Had a Protestant come to my door, he talked a lot and some of it made sense at the time...anyway, here I am...looking for guidance, making sure I don't get led down the wrong path.

Hi - I'm new here and trying to find some answers. I was born and raised Catholic but somewhere along the way, and it;'s been a long way, I am 69 years old I turned away from the faith for many years. I then returned to church, but to t he Methodist Church and was a member there for about three years. I then became involved in a bible study group with them which frightened me so much,as I had never read the bible before, that I returned to the Catholic Church. I have felt like a misfit ever since. Our parish is very cliqish and I feel very left out and alone. I never felt that way in the Methodist Church. I really would like to feel close to the church and to God but it just isn't happening. Any suggestions would be so much appreciated.

Hi there, I am new at CAF. I'm in Paris (the French one) and I discovered CAF today. Well, being Catholic is not the most popular thing nowadays in France, so I am trying to find some fresh air at CAF.
