    Prairie Rose,

Well, harvest time in the city sees a lot more produce in the farmers' markets and pick-up trucks with watermelon and other produce in them, selling their produce in parking lots of grocery stores. It's a good time of year.

    Hi, GKCT,

Thank you, ma'am, for your advice and well wishes. My name is still on the list of ushers at the Cathedral and I returned yesterday's phone call from the Cathedral in town, this morning. They have a three hour training course for Church volunteers and she's sending me a schedule. So, I look to start back to church, soon.
Last year and early this year I had called for a priest to come to my house, hear my confession and give me the Eucharist. Now, I'm up and about, more.
I've been trimming bad habits of thought and behavior from my life; my doctor told me I was all tied up by conflicting thoughts and emotions was why I'd just sit and look at what needed to be done. Now, I'm at the point to resume doing what good I can while leaving the evil behind. So, it may not have been Satan at all, telling me to wait. It may have been an angel telling me to "Wait upon the Lord".
With the Cathedral's phone call yesterday, I have heard from the Lord. grin.

All of ya'll are in my prayers, too.
    Thank you, for your prayers.

    God loves ya'll,
    Don

    Prairie Rose,
Maybe the east coast can send some priests out your way. We are supposed to share, after all! But this coming June we only have one for ordination, but next year will be better.

    Don,
When I was called to go back to the church, I didn't hesitate for one minute. I think it's the devil telling you to wait, but we don't ever know if we will have tomorrow. I do wish you the best of everything that life has to offer.

Good Morning Don - it's a busy day today
(I work at a Farm Implement Dealership) the farmers are working hard at harvesting soybeans this week and probably will start harvesting corn next week. Lots of farm machinery on the roads - gotta be extra careful when driving - LOL
At the Grain Elevator there's a huge lineup of trucks and grain carts - all waiting to unload. Some of the truckers have been coming in at night and sleep overnight in their trucks at the Elevator parking lot so they can be first in line to unload in the morning!!

    Hi, GKCT,

Thanks for writing. I'm glad you're life is turned around.

I've only been away from Church since last year and it seems like a long time. I want to go back, but something's been telling me to wait.
By virtue of decree of nullity I've never been married and because of surrendering adoption have no children to speak of. Those loses turned my life around and I'm a better man now, but not looking to marry, after years of looking for a wife.
I guess I'm getting used to living alone, after forty years of it.

    Good morning, Prairie Rose,

Having a good start to my week and nice, crisp autumn weather here, with blue skies and a cool breeze.
I've worked six days a week of 12 hour shifts, in my time. You're right. One day off is not enough.

    (hugs) back atcha. smile

Hi Starbug - you & I might be near the same age?? I graduated High School in 1985 and I was married in 1988. We have a daughter, age 12.

Hi GKCT - how awesome that there is an increase in Seminarians in your area - we are always short of Priests out here in the Midwest. Many parishes, especially in South Dakota are facing consolidations and closings because there aren't enough Priests. sigh...... Here in our section of Nebraska, our Pastor is in charge of 3 churches in 3 separate towns, all within our county. We consolidated into 1 Parish approx 7 years ago.

    Hi everyone
Beautiful weekend, and the welcome chill of Autumn is in the air. My favorite time of year. Today though we had some rain--well, it poured so hard when I was on the turnpike, we were going 30mph, and there was hail too. Didn't last long.
Don: I was away from the church for many, many years as well. I can't believe how my life has literally turned around. If someone told me 6 months ago I would be attending Mass every day, I would have thought them a tad crazy. But I love it, happy, contented and love my parish and its priests. They are all so different, but all so nice.

We have 30 seminarians from Connecticut studying for the priesthood. And I heard that vocations have gone up in the Boston and Philadelphia areas as well. Gotta pray harder still.

To Prairie Rose and to all! I enjoyed reading your story very much. I was away from the church since my mid-teenage years. I never thought about God at all. That seems so strange to me now because I think about God most of the tme now.

I married a non catholic alcoholic in 1988. In 1992 we had our first son and I wanted Baptism for him so my baby Kevin brought me back and it felt almost like I had never left. My now ex-husband has been sober for 14 years now, and since a couple of years after the divorce in 1995, we have remained good friends and he helps me a lot. I never re-married and since the marriage was not blessed by the Church, a don't need an annulment. We also had another son Robert. Now Kevin is 18 and Robert is 16.

    Good Morning Don,
Another sunny day here - it's Monday again, sigh....seems like the weekend went by way to fast. Didn't help that I had to be at work on Saturday - just one day off doesn't seem right - LOL. (Although the extra hours on the paycheck are ok!!)
    Wishing you a great week!!

    Hi, Prairie Rose,

We had a beautiful day here, too. We have a cold front knocking the Texas heat down, and it is really nice. The dogs are frisky, too, and this morning I did a dab of yard work when I took them out for their morning dump in the back yard.
Today is beautiful, too, with hazy sky and cool temperatures. Overhead is blue sky, but the horizon has haze. We didn't have haze, when I came home to Texas in '73.
I enjoyed reading the story of your conversion, way to go!
