Hello, I just returned to the Catholic church and have joined the Legion of Mary group at my church.
Welcome to the Legion and I hope you will enjoy being a Legionary like all of us. It is truly very rewarding to be a part of our Blessed Mother's army to spread the word of God and serve Him through our Blessed Mother by doing our work faithfully.
I have been in the Legion now for about 6 years and I love it.
I have not been able to go to this forum for a while but I am really glad that it is still alive.
How are you MariaChristi? How is your praesidium going? We have not forgotten you and your praesidium is always included in our prayers as well as all the other praesidiums that we may all continue to grow not only in number but most of all. spiritually and glorify God and be example for others to follow through our Blessed Mother Mother by our actions.
Good to hear from you again. I talked to Bernie yesterday and her husband is coming home from the Nursing facility today. Please continue to keep that couple in your prayers.
Our Praesidium is still not growing in Active members, although our Auxiliaries continue to grow in number, thanks be to God. Thanks so much for your prayers, please keep them coming!
We need a lot of people like you who are willing to devote their life to the service of God.
We always include people like you in our prayers in the Legion just as we offer prayers for all those that need prayers.
As a person, I well always be devoted too OUR LADY.

Where should meetings be held? was there a specific rule in choosing the venue for the weekly meeting?
Is this a new Praesidium that you are starting?
I love the Legion and I always offer the members to God through our Blessed Mother. With our Mother's help nothing is impossible and everything is achievable. I always look forward every Saturday because this is our meeting day. I have the meeting for the senior in the morning and the junior in the afternoon. I love working with the juniors and I love all of them. I am very fortunate to be a part of both Praesidium. Our members are all very good and devoted to the Legion.
I wish you all the best in your Praesidium and I hope you will find the suitable place for your meeting. You know what, when we were having problem on where to have the meeting for our 2nd Junior Praesidium, I was in tears and everybody was telling me that the Blessed Mother will find a way and true enough, the catholic school being part of the Parish allowed us to use one of their rooms for a meeting place,so put your trust in God and our Mother.
I love to hear how your Praesidium is going. What is the name of your Praesidium and where is it located?
There was a time when I kept saying " I don' have the time to become an active member". I am working full time and I have a granddaughter that I need to look after and on top of that, I had a liver transplant a few years back but it's amazing how God helps you find the time once you are there.
I am now the vice president for our junior group where my granddaughter is also a member. I also join the RCIA group which is one of the active work of the Legion and the meeting for this is at night so I can attend the meeting.
Home visitation and hostel visitations are works that can be done during the weekend.
As long as you have the desire, the Blessed Mother will help you find the time. What is required , is that you do two hours of active work for the week and it does not have to be done in any particular day.
For me, the legion work became part of my social life and one of the benefit is that I was able to get my granddaughter really active in the legion that she also became an altar server.
To Jesus Through Mary, nothing is impossible.
I remember there was a praesidium in our curia reported that they experience riding a small boat just to home visit. It was after the typhoon Ondoy hit our country and leave many places flooded for more than a month. This legionaries wasn't stop by this scenario, but instead get motivated to do more. Thinking to bring Mary to the houses of this people who are very much bothered at that time sure help them strengthen their hope and faith to our Lord. Congratz to you brothers and sisters! Great job!
This is a wonderful question. The answer is very clear and I encourage you to read P. 92-4 in the legion handbook. Point #3 states "daily recitation of an Office approved by the Church, especially the Divine Office or a substantial part of it, for example, Morning and Evening Prayer."
I, too, am a Lay Carmelite. The prayer lives complement each other and the work we do. Our Lady asks each to do the best not the most. Quality of time in your prayer life will draw you deeper. Accept the gift you are being given in the spirit of love and charity to serve Our Lord through His Mother.
There are days when things don't go as planned. Our Lady knows my heart. I lift my thoughts to her. On more than one occasion, I have said all my prayers at bedtime. Some days are like that.
