In regard to liturgical abuses in parishes, have you spoken with the pastor in either place, SCGiants? Sometimes it helps to hear from him the reasons he does not correct some things, or perhaps he may have already tried. Some people are not easily corrected, unfortunately. Please let us continue to pray for true renewal in our parishes and in the Catholic Church Universal. Thanks for beginning this group.

I have a cause for concern. It is the apparent Protestant habit of the parishioners raising their hands to the sky as the priest does during the Lords Prayer. I have seen in the Catholic Answers Forums that this is not supposed to happen yet I see it at both Parishes in Myrtle Beach (St. Andrews and St. Michael's) - why is this allowed and why hasn't any of the priests said anything to the parishioners to stop this? My husband and I are in anothr part of the state but every time we go to Charleston, we attend Mass at St John the Baptist Cathedral downtown Charleston. Sorry I can't help you with the place to stay, I don't know that area too well.

Hi! I am 35 yrs of age, born & raised Catholic, from northern WI, and will be getting married in July to a wonderful, wonderful woman that I met on a Catholic dating website. We are looking at the Charleston, SC area as our choice for a honeymoon destination. I am wondering if anyone from the area might be able to give me some pointers as far as where in Charleston would be a good place to celebrate our first weekend mass together as husband & wife. Also looking for some help finding good value in a condo or B&B in the Charleston area to stay in for the week while we're there. Preferrably something furnished with a kitchen.
