ouch, that's how you get the bug though. We'll see how it works out. I just posted my VW Getta for sale, if this person, doesn't want to trade the bike and cash. This person is my sister and the bike is her ex's, so it may work out for all of us, except the ex. who I owe a "what fer". lol

I'm trying to work a deal on a softail up in VT. It is stock, other then chrome upgrades. I would remove motor/trans...everything and paint the frame and rear kit pearl green and strip the frame in silver/gold vines. Weld the tanks together and do some body work to smooth...paint tanks and fenders in base coat, stencil, then clear. The vines are the tricky part and may take a few practice try's before I clearcoat. I've worked around paint and fender shops my whole life. The bike picture is a real nice 20k build. I could do with the bike I'm looking at for under 7k.

Samson - Thank you for showing me the picture! Wow! When you say you would like to build that bike, do you mean you can actually just buy the different parts and make one yourself? That's pretty cool! You must be great with tools!

Yes, its a Harley softail motorcycle. I love bikes, but haven't had a street bike in a few years. I have ridden bikes since I was nine and grew up around them...At one time I had 7 bikes, mostly dirt bikes, but now have 3 including an atv for yard work, no street bikes. I miss riding on the road and want to build this particular bike. Something big, fast and nasty...lol. I thought of trying to guild goldleaf vines, then clearcoating it, but would prob. be easier to stencil. I have a vivid imagination when it comes to custom paints and want to try a different look. I have never seen vines except on guitars and if done right, would look outstanding of a bike. This stuff, planning, takes time...

Samson - What is a softail build? A motorcycle? The colors you chose sound cool, and i really like the idea of the vines! I'm so glad you're feeling better and especially that your side healed up! Yeah!

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers. I guees I'm feeling better now and my side is finally healed up. I think I had pulled something or cracked a rib. It must be spring cause I'm missing riding bikes again and still trying to line up a trade on a softail build. I really, really want to build this bike and have a project this summer. I have the paint in my shed already, but I have a lot of auto paints and pearls handy. I'm thinking the frame, tanks and fenders in a med pearl green and stenciling vines, like ivy vines in gold or silver. most likey silver to match the chrome, but if the motor is blacked out, I'll go with the gold. Of course I'm pricing a "fat tire" rear and 60 spoked wheels...drag bars. Just dreaming, but I got the bug bad...
