Bede Griffiths was born in 1906 in England and died in 1993 in India. He made lecture tours through the West and sparked waves of enthusiasm out there. He wrote many books. He was a great inspiration to many Christians today. At him they found the love and the authenticity that they had been looking for. His final words were: "I am so happy. I'm so full of love. This is my commandment, that ye love one another. In this is included the whole gospel."

Bede Griffiths wanted the adaptation of Christianity to the present day. He taught that the disclosures of all religions complete one another. All the holy books of all religions together give the whole thing. A spiritual person can and should learn from the books of all religions.

Bede Griffiths was, how many great saints, very uncomfortable for his church. He explained that the Catholic Church must change. She should find new ways to express the Christian message. She should make love, not the sin to the center of her faith.

Bede Griffiths advocated the abolition of compulsory celibacy for priests, the priesthood of women and to establish inter-religious communities. His ashram in India was visited by people from all religions. He sent his Christian students to other spiritual traditions, so that everyone could find just the personal right way for him to enlightenment.

To all, always try to pray to Saints, for they to take our prays to Jesus &Mary, and at times, help people praying to them.
Adrienne5678 > I also have not heard of spiritual surgery, but when I was going to be put under for surgery, while waiting to go to surgey, I would say a Rosary, and tell,Mary that It,s in God,s hand,s,weather I come back out, from under being put to sleep.

    Michelle:
I'm not sure what you're saying. Anyone who claims to be a saint is not a saint. Remember that. Some people pray all night, that's called a vigil. Praying all night is not bad. I have NEVER heard of a spiritual surgery. Be weary. Speak to a priest. I don't understand why there was a man in your room...I would suggest not sending your kids there...speak to a priest.

Our wish, our object, our chief preoccupation must be to form Jesus in ourselves, to make his spirit, his devotion, his affections, his desire, and his disposition live and reign there.

    St. Agnes

    Feastday: January 21
Patron of the Children of Mary
    304
St. Agnes was a Roman girl who was only thirteen years old when she suffered martyrdom for her Faith. Agnes had made a promise, a promise to God never to stain her purity. Her love for the Lord was very great and she hated sin even more than death! Since she was very beautiful, many young men wished to marry Agnes, but she would always say, "Jesus Christ is my only Spouse."

Procop, the Governor's son, became very angry when she refused him. He had tried to win her for his wife with rich gifts and promises, but the beautiful young girl kept saying, "I am already promised to the Lord of the Universe. He is more splendid than the sun and the stars, and He has said He will never leave me!" In great anger, Procop accused her of being a Christian and brought her to his father, the Governor. The Governor promised Agnes wonderful gifts if she would only deny God, but Agnes refused. He tried to change her mind by putting her in chains, but her lovely face shone with joy. Next he sent her to a place of sin, but an Angel protected her. At last, she was condemned to death. Even the pagans cried to see such a young and beautiful girl going to death. Yet, Agnes was as happy as a bride on her wedding day. She did not pay attention to those who begged her to save herself. "I would offend my Spouse," she said, "if I were to try to please you. He chose me first and He shall have me!" Then she prayed and bowed her head for the death-stroke of the sword

I love Saint Agnes or Saint Ines.. I attended a real California Mission as a child and recieved my sacraments at Old Mission Santa Ynez. Full of history and icons and mystery. I love the Saints and Icon and shrines. A church with out Icons ain't a church ;-) The Holy Spirit lives in side of me and all the Saints give me strength and wisdom along with the blessed mother Mary.
