Hi everyone, I am in RCIA currently and have a question about a certain book and was wondering if anyone had read it. It seems a bit scary to me as I'm not familiar with much Catholic doctrine or beliefs pertaining to the end of times, so I would like some input as to whether or not the book is credible. I am sorry for my ignorance, Thank you for your help. It is called: "The Book of Truth" Volume 1 and apparently there is a volume 2 coming out. This is the website someone posted on facebook and it seems very concerning to me. Could someone explain more about this if you know anything about it? http://www.thewarningsecondcoming.com/home/

Has anyone read the book Doctrine: What Christians Should Believe by Mark Driscoll? Issues? Reviews? I'm roughly half way through - so far no real negativity directed towards Catholicism.

Hi, I am new to all this. I live in Scotland, UK. I absolutely love The Journey Home and all of EWTN. Always informative and true catholic teaching. As we are more reserved in the UK I love the openess of our American cousins.

(Washington, DC, December 2010) Guilt of a “w” terrorist is an autobiographical book by N-What! Taking a reader through a young father’s journey of his decision that created life or destroyed life depending on an individual’s perspective. The author apologizes to his sons for paying to have their brother or sister to be womblasted.

Even though N-What! Has utilized a casual literary style in his writing, the message of respecting the dignity of the human person from natural conception to natural death is apparent. He also offers comparisons and similarities between abortion and terrorism. That in both cases death of innocent human beings is the end result. The only difference is that abortion is legal, wherever laws of a given geographic area permit it. A closer examination of abortion and terrorism will reveal how they both operate from an established ideology of creating and promoting a killing culture.

N-What! Has his own terminologies such as, womblast to mean abortion and wombist is an abortion provider.

Guilt of a “w” terrorist by N-What! With ISBN 0-595-41874-0 is available wherever books are sold for $9.95

Author is available for speaking engagements, book signings and interviews, nigmatikmike@yahoo.com

Since my reconciliation in 2005 I find that "The Imitation of Christ", author: ThomasA Kempis, is the one book I refer to time and again.

Hello all. I am new to this group and this is my first posting.

I am currently finishing up Fire Within by Fr Thomas Dubay, a book which explores the writings of St Teresa and St John of The Cross on contemplative prayer. Not an an easy book to read, but very rewarding for the insights it gives. It is emphasized that contemplative prayer is not something just for Catholic mystics, religious, or cloistered nuns. It is a prayer that is meant for all the faithful including the laity, and so I am struggling to incorporate his insights into my own prayer life.

Some of you may know Fr Dubay from his past shows on EWTN. I have never read a book of his without learning and growing in my Catholic Faith.

    May God bless you all.

I am currently reading a remarkable book (it is available on Amazon) a book called Witness by Josyp Terelya with Michael Brown, It shows Josyyp with a picture of Pope Paul !11 on the cover and is an autobiography of this Ukranian Catholic who underwent much persecution over his faith. He has also reported visions of the Virgin Mary (which have not yet been approved) but his horrible experiences at the Soviet camps there alone are worth reading. He was very active in Catholic Action and even evangelized guards and prisoners when he was imprisoned.

This is very moving, and even if you discount the visions, this will give you an idea of how the Catholic faith was persecuted in the Ukraine.

Iam currently reading " The Stripping of the Altars" by Eamon Duffy. This book is a Catholic chalenge to protestant distortions of Catholic history during the protestant refermation. For a Catholic it is a must read!

I recently found an original 1937 "The New Roman Missal" by Father Lasance. Does anybody have an idea what the value of such an item would be. It is nearly pristine and is a great english/latin missal.
