    Welcome to the group happy_new_conv!
I think the Lord is just testing your trust
in Him. "Will you trust ME instead of
your advertisers?" I find in my life that
often the Lord will lead us down paths
that SEEM like "dead ends" or "bad
news", but they are paths to richer
rewards and honor and, yes, LIFE.
    (Prov 22:4)

houseofsaul, it was pretty bad back then, especially for women and children and the unwanted of society, but I understand what you're saying about the simplicity, and in that I agree, it was a time of faith and family, piety was considered to be something strived for, not a character flaw. It does seem like all the old fashion virtues are being cast away and replaced by the cold emptiness of secularism, but don't be despondent or overly saddened, for we are promised an everlasting "homestead", with the best of neighbors, a place of eternal peace and prayer, if we persevere. So in a way we are on a "Wagon Train" but instead of heading west we're heading up, some will arrive in the new land, others won't. So as our Lady asked of us at Fatima, we need to pray for poor sinners, and for each other.
I will pray for your daughter and your family, especially your grandson, please pray for mine.
    May God grant you peace

Pray for my daughter and her family. Our grandson has spent the last few days in the hospital and has a long recovery ahead. They need a whole lot of good to come in their lives and fast.

I was born a century too late. Life back then was so much simpler. If you couldn't make it or grow it, you didn't need it. Life was centered around God and family. Some would disagree saying that life was too hard, but atleast you could lay down each night and sleep peacefully...the stresses of today are far worse than those of the yesteryears and healthwise we are no better for it, regardless of all these modern day conveniences, including the "soapbox" from which this rant is being delivered. If I had a life do-over or an opportunity for a sustainable homestead I would gladly jump on that "wagon train."

    AnthonyCocchiol, you must repent,
not only that you ran out on your wife
for someone else, but that you did
not regard the COVENANT you made
before God on your wedding day!
    Remember, marriage is a SACRAMENT
it is meant to be a means of God's grace,
not only to you, but to society as a whole.
I will pray for you and your situation!
