A busy week & a blessed week. My favorite cousin & her husband visited from out of town. Then on another day favorite son (only) & his wife & adorable two yr old little girl came for a day . Got to spend time with my 25 yr old grandson. He's so neat! I found out that my radio in my car was only on one speaker & he got it all adjusted. Sounds better too. He almost couldn't believe it. I've had the car for about three years. What can I say; This is why this site is called "seniors".
Then as if all that wasn't enough we had a nice Thanksgiving Dinner where we live in the clubhouse. Lots of good food & fun.
And today we won $15 at a meeting we go to once a month. So we went out to dinner!
It's fun to be able to write a fun only message. It's good to be able to count so many blessings. While it is so good to have Catholic Seniors to share with others our trials; I'm happy to be able to share a fun week, too.
I love you all & I love the kindness that is shown by the posters on the site.
Thanks to our Patron St. Anne & to her grandson, Our Lord & Savior.
    Love to all, Agatina

utah rose: Forgot to mention, you might want to join the Catholic Caregivers social group as well. Its another place you can share your caregiving experience and hear from other care givers as well. Just a suggestion in case you haven't thought of it already.

To utah "Rose" and the group. Its good to hear from you again. I'm very happy to hear your husband is feeling better. You have taken you and your husband's situation in such a positive manner. In my opinion we all have our "crosses" to bear and each poses its own level of difficulty for each care giver and care receiver. What might seem simple to others may be very difficult and vice versa. If its difficult to one, it is difficult. But the way we bear our crosses is what makes them blessings. In my experience with care giving I find that my care receivers are actually ministering to me. Many times, through them, God is ministering to me. They seem to me to be showing their love for God by trusting in Him no matter their situation or condition. That in turn shows me what Love of God and Trust in Him really is! Loving Him is believing in HIm and Trusting Him is believing He does Love us and will take care of us, His Children. Bless you and your husband in honoring your vows. You are an example to all. A great place to get help, as you are, is from Mary and all the Saints. With their prayers of intercession they are a true assistance. Keep up the good way. God hears our prayers and petitions. Father in Heaven continue to give Rose the patience and dedication as she ministers to her husband, Your Child. Father may we all exhibit her caring and dedication for those we care for. And don't forget as caregivers we must all make time to care for ourselves. God Bless you.

    To JJWR and others,
This sure is a nice group. Thank you so much for your prayers. My husband is feeling a bit better--he is now receiving oxygen daily and may have a sore knee replaced. However, I know a lot of you are suffering much more yourselves and I will be praying for you.

I'm trying to offer up my sacrifices (giving up what I would rather be doing) and taking care of my husband's needs instead for the Poor Souls, and am thanking Mary and Jesus for giving me this "light" cross to carry.

So many of you are fighting cancer, immobility and such. So far, except for a little arthritis I am pretty healthy and thank God each day for this. Otherwise I would not be able to handle the chores that I must do in addition to taking care of him.

This is teaching me "marriage is forever: (I have been married 44 years) and everyone has something else to bear, I have left this in Mary's hands and just hope that I can have enough patience to do this.

Per Mother Angelica, St. Paul had a problem with this, so I also have been praying to him. It's nice to know that the saints had their problems too!

    In Jesus and Mary,'

For All: St. Anne pray for all seniors that despite the difficulties we face that we will keep Trust and Faith in Jesus. Pray, also, that we understand that we are Servants for Christ. Pray for Christ to give us strength in our struggles.

Hi Utah Rose. Saw your post and just wanted to say your "role" as care giver for your husband is a special one. It takes a special person. God Bless you as care for your husband. I know when I'm facing difficulties I try to remember God never gives us more than we can handle; although at the time it doesn't seem like it. God Bless you and your husband. Oh, and welcome to the group. Father, give Utah Rose and her husband Your Comfort and Peace.
