This website is like an 'oasis' to me....such kind and spritual people! I enjoy reading everyones comments...especially since I have an ear ache....it takes my mind off of it....I always recall Archbishop Sheen's advice to "offer it up".
Does anyone listen to EWTN Radio? I enjoy the 'open-line' program...and the Catholic Answers call in show....when I get a chance to listen.....there is still something wonderful about listening to the radio....My prayers for all CAF people and God Bless!

Maria-I didn't know about Father Dominic's dad! Oh, that's awful! I like Father Dominic-he's another one of those 'pull no punches' type of priests! I just saw a YouTube video of him preaching a sermon on modesty of dress in church-he certainly 'told it like it was'! Way to go, Father Dominic!

I also hope that you can find out how the African priest is doing in the wake of his brutal attack. Just for curiosity's sake, I went to the Birmingham diocesan website to see if there was anything there---NOT!

On a happier note, when I was away last week I did see the preview of the 'Saints Alive' program that's coming up next month. That looks very interesting! I don't know if it will come on their YouTube channel, however.

Hello Maria Francis! It was very nice to read you kind words, and what you shared about dear Father Leo Clifford. Yes, he has a endearing, and powerful way of speaking the truth. Maybe I heard that one you mentioned: "Holy Communion". We shall one day order a few of his talks. Maybe he gave those talks some time ago in a warmer climate because of the lush
    vegetation and flowers behind him.
Thought maybe he was in Hawaii, or Florida with the palm tree's and bright flowers. God Bless You too!
    Thanks for the "Welcome".

Hello Desertmesa! Well I love Father Clifford and after some internet searching I found out that he is 88 years old and lives in a Retirement Friary in New Jersey. I like when I listen to his talks its as if he is speaking directly to me. I think he is an inspiration! One of my favorites is Holy Communion. Welcome to our group and may God bless you and everyone in this group.

Maria; There is no doubt that much sactifying grace is achieved by those who suffer in nursing homes and Hospital. Whenever I am in a Hospital I love to pray for the sick as I walk down the halls...it's like a meditation...these are afterall holy places where alot of people leave the Earth for hopefully purgatory or Heaven; Our real home...and Nursing Homes are the same.....It reminds me of how Pope John Paul II suffered with such dignity....as if a witness for us...and now the Glory of Heaven! Amen!

Isaiah 41 Yes, I have seen the show Super Saints. It is pretty good. I love the ones on Visionaries and Mystics! Did you ever see the show Eucharistic Miracles? I love to watch programs like this. I am asking prayers for a lady that my husband and I take communion to. She is elderly and in a nursing rehab center because she broke her hip. She is sooo sweet and I just love her. She used to watch EWTN all the time and now it is not broadcast there. She misses it . She will be going to an assisted living when she leaves and her home is up for sale and most of her belongs have been auctioned off. This has to be difficult for her and all people that come to that time in their lives. Please pray for all those in Nursing Homes . They are so pitiful as we see so many when we go to take her communion.
Also please pray for the sub priest we had today filling in for our Priest on vacation. He is recovering from ankle surgery and used a walker to say Mass. He is retired. Thanks for the prayers in advance.

God bless everyone and may Our Lady wrap her mantle around each and everyone of you.

Hi Desertmesa! Welcome! I don't know where Fr. Clifford is from, but it looks like California or Florida with the nice palm trees in the background.

barb; That was funny about the 'Papal corrections' by th Monsignor....it puts a 'human face' on it all...
Yes indeed Donahue is a 'Irish-Spitfire" and I have to admit I love it! He defends the Catholic Chuirch with no pulled punches!

Maria; I also love the stories of the Saints! I love the story of St. Monica; how she prayed for her son who was a party animal and had a child out of wedlock...but through prayer became the great St Augustine! It shows you the love, compassion and mercy of the Lord! That show 'Saints Alive' sounds very interesting indeed...Did you ever catch the series; "Super Saints"? It's wonderful...and is a classic show that has been around awhile on EWTN....run by the Husband-Wife team of Bob and Penny Lord. ----God Bless everyone---- Prayers for Priest as well!!!

Hello all I sent a prayer request into the Poor Clare Nuns in Birmingham and asked for prayers for Father Esee the priest who was violently attacked. I asked if I could have an update on his condition but I don't know if I will get a return e-mail . Also I heard that Father Dominick's father had a severe heart attack and they asked for prayers for him yesterday and today at Mass for his healing and strength.

Did anyone see the Mass today? Well it will be on again. The homily was so good by Father Anthony!! It was about St. Monica and is especially good for all those that are having trouble with their children. Very enlightening and inspiring. Perhaps you can see it on-line too but not sure.
I found out that St. Monica had a tendency toward alcohol but with God's graces she overcame this and lived a life of sobriety. So she is the Patron Saint of Alcoholics and those with addictions. She is also the Patron Saint of those in difficult marriages and also the Patron Saint of those with difficult children. She is also the Patron of victims of adultry and verbal abuse. So I learned something today about a wonderful saint who had perserverence and never quit praying for her son Augustine. She prayed for 17 years. So this gives us all hope. She would be a wonderful intercessor for anyone who would be in any of these situations.
    St. Monica pray for us!
    St. Augustine pray for us!

Does anyone know when the program Saints Alive will start to air?? It looks interesting!
Also on PBS they are airing in the fall and I am not sure if it started a series of programs called Catholicism Project. It will be broadcast in 50 countries. I am not sure when that starts either. If anyone knows let us know. If you go to YouTube there is a trailer on the program there. It takes the viewer all over the world teaching about our Glorious faith. Great for all Catholics and those interested in the faith. I hope it touches many hearts to the beauty and truth we have in our Catholic faith.

I will continue to pray for all our group.

Isaiah-I was crying too when the Holy Father met the disabled people in Madrid! Did you see the girl in the wheelchair at the meeting with the volunteers before his departure? She put her arms right around his neck when he bent down to speak to her! That was so sweet! I was crying there as well!

How compassionate our Papa Benedict is!

Just thought of something else-did anyone see 'The World Over' on Thursday? Bill Donohue from The Catholic League was Raymond's guest. Whoa-what a motormouth Mr. Donohue is! Poor Raymond couldn't get a word in edgewise! But you have to admit it-Bill is an Irish New York pit bull! And I'm glad he is going after SNAP, the so-called clerical abuse 'support group'!

SIC 'EM, BILL, SIC 'EM! ROWWRR.....!
