The Militia of the Immaculata

Group created by DesertSister62

"This group is for Members of the Militia of the Immaculata, (which would include also; The Knights at the Foot of the Cross (KFC),
For those wanting to consecrate themselves to Our Lady and her humble servant St. Maximilian Kolbe and
For those of you who want to know more about us and/or pray along with us!"

"Pope John Paul II said that all methods of consecrating ourselves to Mary are equally worthy; but that Kolbean consecration adds a clear apostolic dimension." The spirit of the MI is the spirit of continual conversion but when lived in the spirit of willingness and humility, the Immaculata will elevate our natural gifts and inspire us to holiness and fruitful service within the Church!

    Hi CountrySteve, James_OPL, De_Montfort and Christine85!

And a wonderful "HELLO" to all of you!
I just love the Christmas Holidays! I love the sleigh-bells and the great decorations and all the Christmas music over the air-ways!

Christmas brings cheer, but no where more than with we who know "the Reason For the Season!" I am on a forum that functions as sort of a lay association to the Carthusians, (there isn't a real lay association connected to the Carthusians) but while we try to put Carthusian practices into our daily lives, we really have no idea of just how rigorous the life of a Carthusian really is!

Lately there has been quite a bit of comment on the fact that in the Grand Chartreuse, each monk in hiscell makes do with one tiny stove that only warms the basic space around them, but if they move away from the stove, the temperature drops quite drastically! I know because I had the misfortune to live in a house heated only with a wood stove at one end of a large room and the cold was unbelievable! I think we should all pray for these brothers (and sisters in their own monasteries!) that they will be protected from serious harm in the terribly low temperatures! True, they did choose the life, BUT, they spend a lot of their time praying for you and me and all the rest of us and I think we should hold them in prayer in return!

Now, CountrySteve, one or two of our members are consecrated in both the Monfortian consecration and again in the Militia of the Immaculata, so whichever decision you make will be fine. I have chosen to make the Kolbean consecration as St. Maximilian was Franciscan and I am a member of a Franciscan lay community, so I identify more with St. Maximilian.

John Paul II had this to say about St. Maximilian Kolbe, that he was the "Patron Saint of Our Difficult Century" and also the "Apostle of Consecration to Mary!" I, too, belong to this difficult century and so, for me, the decision was clear.

James and Christine, keep up the good work, both of you! This is a hard time for many people that don't see the hope that we do. Lets remember to lift them up in prayer frequently! AND especially remember daughterstm! I have gotten to be more and more concerned for her! Anyone know how to contact her? I sent a PM awhile back but never received an answer. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

May this be a day of peace and gratitude for us all! For those of us who are struggling I pray that it will be a day of reflection as we sit before the Lord and acknowledge His Blessings in all of our lives! Always remember that even the air that we breathe is a gift from the Lord.

This year for the first time I have had to acknowledge the place left empty by the loss of one of my sons and nothing takes that place but for now and always it will ever be his so I just try to make peace with that fact. But even in this God ever surrounds us and gives us His peace if we will just accept it.

So to all of you out there, I pray that you will all know the peace of God for this Thanksgiving! Those of you who are in pain, try to spend some time in His presence and let His peace come softly into your heart, for He has an everlasting love for all of us!!
