How do we as MI members deepen our spiritual lives and strengthen our total consecration to Mary? Here are some suggestions:

•Attend daily Mass if possible, the "source and summit"
of the Church's activity

•Regularly participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, monthly if possible

•Spend time in adoration before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

•Pray the Rosary, individually or in a group or family setting

•Spend quiet time with the Lord each and every morning
(start with 15 minutes)

•Read Scripture, especially the New Testament, to know Christ better

•Read good Catholic spiritual literature and subscribe
to solid Catholic periodicals

•Study Pope John Paul II's powerful writings and the new Catholic Catechism

•For spiritual support, join a small prayer group in your parish or among like-minded friends

I see a new name on the wall! Welcome Musicadmirer!! Its great having you here with us! Read back on the posts and that should bring you up to speed. We are all learning together in this group!

Feel free to jump right in and ask a question, share anything on the Militia or St. Maximilian, OR just to say "hello!" James and I have begun the habit of praying the Chaplet of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Its a short 14 bead chaplet that goes with the Militia of the Immaculata.

I don't know what you know about St. Maximilian but as you can see by some of the posts below; Pope John Paul II said of St. Maximilian, that he was the "Patron Saint of this difficult Century!"

We also have a virtual room which is able to be used any day as the key is left under the mat. Inside we usually have coffee made, ...or you can make tea or Hot Chocolate ! The snacks are usually left in the refrigerator due to the extreme heat that we are experiencing! There is a table and chairs to sit at and work on Bible Study etc. along with notebooks, pencils and pens and even erasers! There is also a notepad left on the counter if you wish to leave a question for us etc.!
As to furniture, we have two recliners, a long couch, and book case for Bibles and reference books etc. As I tell all our members, the recliners are self explanatory! They are for reading, praying, or even taking a short nap over a lunch hour etc!

Welcome Paiti!! Another former member has returned!! I was so glad to see you among the members tonight!! You know how we do it,...we have the virtual room where there is coffee ..tea or hot chocolate . And different snacks in the refrigerator or cupboard, depending on what it is!

Psst,...I made a Chocolate Silk PIe today and brought it up to the room earlier. It is so rich that it even tastes sinful! There is fresh cool whip to put on top of the pie. That way it doesn't sit there and get soggy but tastes great from the very first bite!!

We have a few Bibles on hand,...,... with spiral notebooks and pens or pencils to take notes, and of course if you would like to pray, there is a Chaplet of St. Maximilian Kolbe in the drawer under the lamp in the endtable between the recliners. The recliners are self explanatory; you can either use them to read in, pray in, or even to take a short nap on your lunch break!

Welcome, "littleflower_24!" I see that James was here ahead of me and already welcomed you but I wanted to chime in with mine also!

I believe that James pretty much answered the questions that you asked. We are sort of here just learning ourselves! James has been doing the Chaplet of St. Maximilian Kolbe with me. Its a beautiful little Chaplet that really illustrates the love that St. Maximilian had for the "Immaculata," as he liked to call her, and is composed of only 15 beads.

You know, I barely knew "of" St. Maximilian Kolbe, never mind having a devotion to him. But he suddenly was just with me when I prayed and I think it was his love that drew me in this direction closer to the Mother of Jesus! Also, I have a couple of grown sons that are deep into the drug/drinking lifestyle and I beg him for his intercession for them! I don't know about the rest of you out there, but I really appreciate the saints for their great love of God that led them to live heroic lives! Where better to find wonderful role models!!
