Congratulations MaryY72 and mendymene,

I have been in and out of Church because of my disability for at least two years. I now attend with a good Catholic friend. I made it to the Parish church's anticipatory Mass yesterday, the first of June. While there, having had my hands consecrated about 1987 by a previous bishop, when the priest asked for an Eucharistic Minister, I volunteered and served with him as the Cup Minister.
I had been longing to serve again .... God granted my heart's desire, blessed be His holy name.

Hello, I returned to the Catholic Church after being away for 22 years. I happened to catch a show of Mother Angelica over a year ago - and that was the beginning of my journey home. I got out my rosary and started to pray. I am so glad to be back. I am reading Rediscovering Catholicism.

Hello all, I just returned to the Catholic Church after being away for 28 yrs. and in other churches.

Franna & Angels Eyes, stick with the Church. Where else can you get the Eucharist, the Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of Jesus Christ. I was away from the Church for over 20 years. Once I really understood that, everything else got eaiser. Pray that God will make you open to the teachings of the Church. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Hello Franna and welcome.
It is difficult to 'come back' to the church and accept it fully with all your heart and soul. I still have a tough time sometimes too. I don't always attend mass, not every Sunday, and I am probably not a very good catholic.....now that I think of it....but I hope that God sees my struggles and knows me and understands me....and knows that is ok. I like to think he forgives me for just being a mere human, and not being perfect all the time. I think you should not be so hard on yourself. The church is not perfect and either are we.

I have been trying to come back to the church on and off for 2 years. Sometimes I am fully dedicated other times not so much. Stick with it though. It is worth it....God is worth it.
