Hello brothers and sisters in Christ! I hope you are all doing well. I am interested in knowing if there is interest for us to continue this group and what direction we should take. I am most interested in beginning more discussion about using our creative talents with our families, our Church etc. I have noticed that many groups have members that only post once. Any feedback would be great! I would love for our group to be more vibrant and meaningful to all members! God bless you! Will include all of the folks on our online community in our family prayer tonight.

Anyone into jewelry making? I am considering whether to teach classes or sell some pieces. Maybe both!

Painters, how are you making your art public/displaying art?

    God bless you!

Welcome to our new talented members Sheilakathy and Franny50.

It is deffinetly challenging to make money using some of our artistic and creative talents. And you are right SheilaKathy, people don't usually pay a whole lot for art unless the artist is dead...pretty sad. I have met many talented artists and for most they struggle. Most have to have a FT job and create art on the side.

Tell us more about your book Sheilakathy. The name might not give us enough info.

Franny50 thanks for the links! It's important to network well with folks that share our passions!

Franny50 I hope you accept a warm hug from all of your brothers and sisters in our Catholic Family. How long were you away?

I have one book in print, it is called MISFIT MOTEL. I displayed my paintings in galleries for many years, though I did not really ever make any money at it (who ever does!) THey only PAY for paintings by "dead artists" and then they pay millions for them, sigh... anyway, my book sold a whopping 38 copies, if I recall. We do this for the love (of course) not the money. But still, it sure would be nice to get paid for our efforts once in awhile! Just my beef today, not every day do I complain.

Tomorrow I go to work in the Co-op gallery where I have 3 paintings on display. I am happy and proud to be a part of it and to serve there too. SheilaKathy

Hi All, I do photography, write poetry and various other things, like do drawings with colored pencils and other mixed-media. I have some drawings on display in a local gallery and hope to have some photogpahps on display soon in another gallery.

I live in Andrews North Carolina which is in Cherokee County WAYYYyyyyy out in the mountains, which are often the subject of my artistic endeavors.

Good evening everyone! I'm back! I apologize for not being around for a while. Nicolemaps I tried to upload a message for you but had a few problems. I love that you are thinking about a family night related to Lent. Sometimes parents take a back seat when their kids are in faith formation.

Have you checked with your archdiocese to see if they have a audio/video library? Often they have a library that you can rent items from or loan.

What is the primary age of the kids?

    Arts and Crafts:
Keeping costs low with arts and crafts can be tough. You might google a recycle reuse center in your area. Otherwise getting creative with watever you have access to should work.

Depending on how many families are planning to participate you can divide the group by each station.

Have a written description of each station. Give them a chance to discuss it as a family and to write a prayer or reflection about that station.

Each station/family can also be in charge of designing their own cross. You can use construction paper, popsicle sticks, or slender braches that can be broken into smaller pieces. Use raffia or a cotton string to create a cross if you are using branches.

During the prayer of the stations have each family be in charge of reading the Gospel reading for that station, holding their cross, and reading their prayer/reflection.

I hope this helps.... if it doesn't and you would like other ideas, let me know. God bless each and every one of you abundantly!!! ; )

Hi! I am part of my Church's Family Life Ministry and I'm looking for ideas. We would like to have some sort of Stations of the Cross or Lent-Related family night for the kids in Faith Formation and their parents. Does anyone know of a movie or even a book that might be appropriate? What about activities or crafts?
