READ THE BIBLE AND CATECHISM IN A YEAR Motivational and Sharing Group

Group created by 3DOCTORS

Let’s get motivated to read the Scriptures and the Catechism in a year’s time using this handy guide. Post our progress (maybe we can find and use some kind of tracking bars for our progress – I’ll look into it).

So – post your progress and joys and struggles and reflections on what you read. If you do fall behind, just jump back in and keep going! And encourage each other.

I am looking forward to do this.I am a returning Catholic.I need so much help, I feel very overwhelmed about relearning and walking in the faith. It would be great to have a reading guide in The Bible, catechism and other helps.

    Day Three~
"By the sweat of your face shall you get bread to eat, Until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; For you are dirt, and to dirt you shall return." Gen. 3:19

"Salvation is the Lord's! Upon your people be your blessing!" Ps 3:9

The Visit of the Magi, The Flight to Egypt, The Massacre of the Infants and The Return from Egypt. Mt. 3

CCC " God transcends all creatures. We must therefore continually purify our language of everything in it that is limited, imagebound or imperfect, if we are not to confuse our image of God- "the inexpressible, the incomprehensible, the invisible, the ungraspable"'- with our human representations." (Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Anaphora) Our human words always fall short of the mystery of God.

Hi Everyone, I'm proud of my progress with this reading plan since I've begun using it again. It's the easiest one I've found. The first few times I read through it, I didn't read the CCC. But this time, I found myself enjoying reading it along with the Bible plan.

ElizabethCorbel, thank you. Greetings to all; boy am I behind in my readings but I'm catching up fast. My latest CCC fav quote is CCC 1179 "The whole earth is sacred and entrusted to the children of men."

I've enjoyed using this reading plan. It's the only one I've been able to stick with easily. All in all, I read through it completely through two or three times over the past few. My new approach is to just take one part of a reading at a time. For instance, I may just read the passage from Psalms, then cross it off on my chart. That way I can break the plan down as small as I need to.
